Thanks again sorry but one more quick ?. The main thing I have to do to prevent the Bug is to renew contracts and make sure the minor leaguers don't get paid unrealistic amounts of money right? Thanks again man

Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
Personally, I'm interested in all you guys running franchises under 1-team control with budgets off. How are the results looking? I was under the impression that turning budgets off really doesn't do a whole lot.Comment

Since I have a grade 2 hamstring pull (otherwise known as a 50% tear), I'm out for the season and can't play in my softball games tonight...so I'll run a couple quick ones and post some info this evening.Click Here to see my NFL Head Coach farewell career (retiring from the game).Comment

Young players as in Jason Heyward and young guys with a name for themselves already or young players like random "A" potential minor leaguers named like Bob Smith?Comment

<I believe the trade logic is fine for 1-team control.>
Imagine how great this game's gonna be when/if the developers figure out how to have the CPU teams give lowball offers to the renewal players.Comment

Dont know if this has already been stated but i really dont want to read through 40+ pages of posts.
This bug / glitch completely destroys RttS - I have been to the majors with 3 separate players now and i can honestly say its like some alternate universe in which teams refuse to keep talent and trade everything for nothing this is a player and im 2 seasons in so its the end of 2013.
Examples:
Jeter - BAL
Greinke - PHI
Papelbon - PHI
Drabek - PHI
Fielder - STL
Chapman - BAL
Hamilton - NYY
Longoria - NYY
Heyward - NYY
Votto - TOR
Pujols - MIN (FA i believe)
Also Halladay is playing AAA ball......Maple Leafs ][ Blue Jays ][ Raptors ][ Bears

Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
So far still no luck with single team control in my sims. I'm going to likely take a night or two off running simulations and play a few games of 2k11 for a change of pace. Then come back and hit it hard on the simulations again to see if there's something can be done for single user control until we get word of a fix on SCEA's end.
EDIT: nvm....I just can't get through a game of 2k11, it just doesn't "feel" right on the diamond. It does some cool things, and has features I want in The Show, but it just can't tie it all together at the same time :/ . I love some of the franchise stuff they added, but if I'm just gunna sim games, I"ll play OOTP. So I might well get started on single team sims sooner than I thought :P

Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
Budgets on...more in-season trades (11 in sim 1 and 13 in sim 2); more "stars" in FA in 2013/14 and 14/15 (sim 1 - Lincecum, Jimenez, and Hamilton headlines the unsigned players from 13/14; sim 2 - Lincecum, Hamilton, Cain, Kershaw, Kemp, and Billingsley went unsigned). At the end of both sims, there were 3 or less A/B potential players with no service time left unsigned on the FA list.
Budgets off...4 trades in sim 3 and 7 trades in sim 4; Only Lincecum went unsigned in both sim 3 and sim 4. At the end of sim 3, 6 A/B no-service players went unsigned and 4 A/B no-service players in sim 4.
In the end, it wasn't that bad because guys seemed to be getting signed, but it's embarrassing that Lincecum goes unsigned. No programmed logic should ever allow for something like that.

Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
I just finished running 4 sims (2 with budgets on, 2 off; all through the 2014/15 offseason). The results were as follows:
Budgets on...more in-season trades (11 in sim 1 and 13 in sim 2); more "stars" in FA in 2013/14 and 14/15 (sim 1 - Lincecum, Jimenez, and Hamilton headlines the unsigned players from 13/14; sim 2 - Lincecum, Hamilton, Cain, Kershaw, Kemp, and Billingsley went unsigned). At the end of both sims, there were 3 or less A/B potential players with no service time left unsigned on the FA list.

In the end, it wasn't that bad because guys seemed to be getting signed, but it's embarrassing that Lincecum goes unsigned. No programmed logic should ever allow for something like that.
As for young stars, what I saw in the budget-on sims was that younger players were finding their way on the list. Heyward, Smoak, Moreland, Strasburg, and Chapman all found their way onto the FA list while still in their renewable years, but all were signed by the end of the off season (Chapman received a deal of $14.6 mil/yr for 6 years). The budget-off sims seemed to have the same issue, but had many more CPU created players also.
I hate the Yankees...
There were 7 trades...total?!?! Through all four years, combined?
No worries on Lincecum for me. I'll sign him with my Yanks anyway.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 03-21-2011, 08:52 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
Yea I will probably just stick with my 30 team franchise I have going. it really isn't that bad I mean I turned the Cpu trading to manual for now and I'm in the middle of May. I will probably turn it back to CPU soon and just have to veto any dumb trades. Thanks guys for trying to find workarounds !!!!!!Comment

So, all in all, which results did you find more preferable. Budgets on or off? It looks like a mixed bag, really. I'm thinking off.

Personally, I did not see a significant difference, but with budgets off, it seemed that less "real" guys ended up on the list. Or, at least the number of them were delayed.Click Here to see my NFL Head Coach farewell career (retiring from the game).Comment

It did seem the trades offered in single team were more realistic though. In June, the Dodgers offered some pretty decent prospects for Brian Roberts (they were in 2nd place, leading the wild card). At the deadline, they traded away Ethier and Kuroda for prospects when they fell to last and 13 games out of the wild card (I looked and they lost 21 out of 25 games in June and July.
In 30-team, I once saw the Cards offer Pujols, Berkman and some A-potential RF for Mike Gonzalez.....Click Here to see my NFL Head Coach farewell career (retiring from the game).Comment
