Don't know in which thread the following question belongs but it is on top of my list!

    Can we save exhibition games?

    1. Can we call or ditch the cut-off man after the throw?

    2. Are dives in the outfield a little easier this year? It was ok in 08 and 09 but since 10 its almost impossible!

    3. Will we finally have full control over slidings?

    4. On a Homerun do the base runners still start to jog right after the ball is hit which gives away that its a Homerun even before it goes over the fence?

    5. Will there (ever) be some sort of manual option for pickoffs so that it's not completely based on ratings but more on your own reaction time if you get back on time or not.

    6. After a linedrive is caught by an infielder he stands there as if there is another play to make. When there are runners on base this makes sense but they always go to this animation. This is not necessary when the bases are emty or there are 2 outs.

    8. Will the pitcher (from time to time) turn his head
to check the runners on base before the pitch. Always wondered why this isn't in.

    Thanks guys!

Has gameplay and animations in general bee sped up? Seems like everything moved too slow in MLB 11...and 10...and 09...

Isn't this supposed to be for GAMEPLAY questions? I'm seeing more questions about presentation, graphics, stances, etc.

I'd like to know if analog pitching was refined, particularly the width of the strike zone represented in the meter in relation to R-stick placement and pitch(er) ratings. We had a good discussion about this in the controls thread, so I'm sure you guys are on top of it. I'd like to hear how it plays out in '12.

I have trouble with this as well. I guess my right thumb is a little faster than my left thumb. Too bad (for us at least) it wasn't changed, but I can see the logic behind it and appreciate getting a definitive answer upfront.

Re: Community Day - GAMEPLAY questions/concerns/inquiries

As a sim freak, I'd like to know:

-- Does the Vita version has the same gameplay/sim/AI engine behind it as the ones used for the PS3 version? Basically I wish to know if I can get similar game results (less build-in randomness of course) after continuing with the same save file with PS3 (at home) and Vita (on commute, etc.). I wouldn't expect them to be exactly the same (like removing cut scenes for Vita to shorten playing time has already been mentioned), but I'm talking about the core game play engine that affects baseball and not presentation...

-- How long is the running time on the gameplay (fast-play mode)? Is it still about 45 min on PS3? How about on Vita?

Still thinking about Vita... possibly get rid of PS3 if the version is as good. I move frequently for work so tend to keep my possession to absolute minimum... PS3 might be too big for me to carry around.

-- For analog hitting, has the swing timing improved? My biggest gripe with Pure Analog was that it was too tough to get around fastball up and in. Definitely much slower response than button-based interfaces, with which I'm early on all pitches if I time as I do with analog... Wish to see what's been done (or not) there. Is it only the pitch speed that was adjusted?

-- How good is Move batting/pitching? Is it ready for a hardcore batting cage junkie like myself? How does PCI respond to Move move (pun intentionally unintentional)? Or still only for a Wii-esque heart-warming exercise for family and kids and/or just good for an ice-breaker before your one-night stand? I'm just curious......

-- Are there any new player attributes? If so, what are they?

-- Are there any new sliders added as gameplay options? If so, what are they?

-- Is the Advanced Fast Play mode, which has been said to be the only mode for the Vita version, available for the PS3 version as well?

Obviously you will probably do this but just making sure... not expecting anything thorough, but these are always exciting little improvements to hear about so here goes:

-- How does new ball physics change the game overall? What kind of plays that never happened in previous games now occur?

-- What new plays (i.e., animations) have been added that obviously affect the game? Last year's CD threads were pretty informative, and I'm just expecting similar things.

-- What obvious CPU AI improvements do you notice? Ditto.
I might keep adding... but that's it for now. Thanks for your time!

Re: Community Day - GAMEPLAY questions/concerns/inquiries

            1. Does pitcher confidence still reset when loading an in-game save file?

            2. Since outfielders presumably move and throw slower this year, and the ball physics presumably cause batted balls to move faster this year, is MLB 12 The Show more offensively friendly? I.E. If a player batted realistically on Default AS in 11, would the CES guys recommend batting on HOF (to start) in 12?

            3. Since pitcher confidence has been rewritten, what are your impressions? Specifically, how are BB's and K's impacted. Last year, I noticed that CPU pitchers seemed to throw a slightly inordinate amount of strikes on 3 ball counts. Has this changed? Are BB's more dynamic amoungst control/wild pitchers? And as far as K's go, the CPU seemed to make a lot of contact on 2 strike counts. Has the pitcher confidence revamp impacted this?

            4. Curveballs were in my opinion the least effective offspeed pitch in 11'. How do CPU hitters react the curveballs this year? Similarly? Differently?

Probably more so in Knight's Franchise thread I think.

Has anything been reworked or changed this year to the playoff atmosphere, with the crowd and announcing being more powerful and intense. Have celebrations been changed or varied?

Pys has a human skill level where the game adjusts to your skills. Madden had it as well ...would be a great addition.

I have this on my list (more of a presentation item, IMO) as well. Along with the batter's moving their fingers while up to bat...

I believe the pitcher issue has been addressed.

could you add players gripping the bat with their last finger or last couple fingers over the knob of the bat?
