Didn't they say last year that 2011 was suppose to be improvements to gameplay and online and 2012 was suppose to be all Franchise mode? I hope they kept their word.

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
Unfortunate....but reality.
Franchise mode will definitely have a different feel in terms of the the workings of it....but in speaking with Aaron about the chance he's getting to move franchise in a new direction in a much bigger way....he needed a complete year with his attention set almost entirely on that. He was doing a heavy amount of work for the Vita and it didn't make sense to devote time to changes for '12 that would probably be changed for '13.
Just FYI......

I guess you haven't been following the many threads in which we've been discussing that with the Vita development, franchise is getting some work(GM AI(general)...lingering bugs(we know the one!).....lineup work.....trade AI and maybe a few little newbies stuck in there!)....but the bigger change(which Aaron will now be handling with his team...replacing Kolbe) is hoped for in '13.

I don't know how much commentary you will be able to hear while you are there, but it would be nice to know to what extent the franchise commentary has improved (ala mentioning in season stats).
I need more immersion in my franchise.Seattle Pilots GM (2011 - ) Record: 152 - 195

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
For the love of God, please tell me there will be an easier way to skip Spring Training at the beginning of a new Franchise.
I would LOVE to be able to skip through Spring Training in a way that doesn't mess with the opening day lineups and 25-man rosters. I don't even want to think about all of the time I spent last year redoing lineups and adding players back onto 40-man rosters...Now, more than everComment

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
I'm guessing most of the changes/fixes will be related to core logic/AI this year, but I would love to know if teams better manage their FA moves by depth chart this year (it's steadily improved over the years-no more stockpiling SS for the Yanks...just curious if more work was done in that regard).
Also, has anything been done with financials (maybe tuned to make them a bit more relevant-especially for smaller markets)?
I think most of my other concerns have been addressed in here already, and the rest would be additions, so thanks!Comment

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
I know they are working on the player card. When I see it...AND am able to say what the changes are I will surely let everyone know.
They hear us on stats....THEY DO!....and I know they are trying to figure out ways to include much more of what we want to see year to year.
) in a full on development cycle.
I'm SURE the commentary that Ed and the overlays will be a big improvement in this are as well. Definitely will check on this...

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
Can players wear different color sleeves? For example Starlin Castro wears a white sleeve. And can this sleeve be different then the actual sweater sleeve?
Also do umpires wear jackets in cold weather?
Do baserunners wear gloves on basepaths, and under fielding gloves?Comment

Good deal. Sounds like Aaron is really wanting to get into franchise from some of your comments. I'm excited to see what the future holds (for 12 and beyond).Comment

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
My number one concern, fix the problem of the cpu taking over for the human manager in manage mode.
In franchise there has already been a thread. Allowing for contract negotiations during the season.
Total team salary should be more dynamic. Currently it is very difficult to increase team salary which makes it very difficult to compete with a team that begins at a salary disadvantage.
For example the Pirates are currently drawing big crowds in my franchise but that plays no factor in increasing the team salary. Winning the world series increases it 7%, there should be other ways to boost it.
It's a great game, if they would address the issues in manage mode and franchise it would be even better.≡Comment

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
You know what would be a nice feature? In the Edit Player screen when selecting his Batting Attributes the player rotate from left side to right if applicable when highlighting that attribute. So if I am editing Danny Espinosa a switch hitter when I toggle RT Contact his player model switches to a left handed hitter facing the screen.
Just a thought.Comment

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
Were any new first and last names added to the game? Can you get a list of them if any were added? (Better yet, if you could just tell me that they added all the names in the thread that was floating around last year, that would make my day.)Comment
