No, before they updated the rosters for the opening day games, it was Manuel.. But the they added in some black guy after they updated them.

Will there be any changes in generating players for the Amateur Draft? For example, last year just about all the players with A and B velocity would have D or F potential. Most players with A or B potential would start with rating verys low-usually in the high 20's. I just want to see something more realistic when they generate the players.

Players are starting higher this year....

But what you are talking about is a given.
Pitches don't progress, so they are rated at the MLB level from the start...velocity/break and control.
So no matter what...if the guy is going to throw a 95 MPH fastball...he's going to have an A in velocity. That's the way it is.

True, but I'll wait to see if they have addressed the issues from the '11 version. I played high heat '02 to the end of the series because the subsequent versions didn't improve the game and I already was years into my franchise.

Hopefully with your help and gentle pressure applied to the developers they have fixed some of the flaws in franchise.

I understand that pitches don't progress, but when you find a pitcher with plus velocity, there should at least be some with A, B, or C potential. The only way you would get one last year is if you edited the player yourself.

Still, good news they are starting the ratings higher.

I know they changed the "draft classes" We were told they would be more balanced etc...So maybe that was touched upon. I do know that when scanning drafted pitchers I did not see the knuckleball. Which I think is great, it was handed out way too freely before to prospects. VERY VERY FEW pitchers throw the knuckler.

Not necessarily.
The managers and coaches are negotiated with separately I believe. So if they struck a deal with him...he's in.

Knight, I thank you for answering my questions earlier in the thread. It's great to have people in the community willing to poke and pry like you do. But, here is another one that's for my obliviousness to the series.

Just how does the scouting and draft processes work? I'm used to doing 2K's draft mechanics. How is The Show's different?
