    That's an interesting suggestion.

Last year, a few years into franchise, I settled into a system where I'd pick one of my pitchers before the year and just play that guy's starts (with only very rare instances when I'd play on someone else's day, like Opening Day or a trip to a stadium I rarely get to see during interleague play). I found it very fun because I found myself really connecting with whichever pitcher I chose each season. And because I spent so much time with one guy's delivery/mechanics on the mound, I found it harder to use other pitchers (making it more tense and scary when I had to switch to a reliever... and making the playoffs, where I play every game myself, much more fun and challenging as I had to get used to controlling my other starters again).

But I'm intrigued by the idea of never seeing the same stadium back-to-back. I wonder how many games this would average out to per season. It would certainly keep me from getting tired of my home stadium (so I might appreciate it more when playoffs come and I get to play more games there).

That's what my brother does after he creates himself as a 99 SP. He just plays the games in which he starts. It's a different view on RTTS, without the "Road To" part.

It gets you no more than about 40 games a season. Normally the games that I don't play, I do MOM with (and if I feel the game is close and intense, I might jump in to finish it off).

I like the idea of sticking with one pitcher. As posted above me, I would probably do that if I created a starting pitcher.

I go by the old baseball adage:

"Every team is going to win 52, every team is going to lose 52. It's what you do with the other 52 that matters."

So there you go, play every third, and control your 52 without burning yourself out.

          That's what I do anyways.

I think you mean 54. I schedule one series a day and play how many i can get in or at least join in in the last few innings, but I never sim any of the 162 completley. This allows me to get through 3 seasons

i just wish you could sim the whole season without all these pop ups coming up on the screen.
You should be able to sim the season then go an do something productive. Then when you come back to the game, the season is over.

As of last year, the game always stops simming because if some reason. And thats with all those settings set to auto.

I just wish you could sim a season like you could in the old tony larussa 2 days.
I think i finished 20 seasons in about 2 hours in that game. I just like to see how stats progress, then maybe play 3 or 4 games per season.

tony larussa2 also saved those special box scores which was a great feature. I think the options were 20+ runs per team, 3hr game, 5 hit game, no hitter, and there were some others.

I play one game per series and choose that game on pitching match-ups, and I try to alternate between day and night games.

We actually just talked about this very thing at CD.
They have a setting in the debug units that lets you go through without any notifications. NONE.....
So tabarnes and I asked if they could put that into the game.....perhaps using the "SIM TO DATE" if you WANT notifications.....and the "SIM SEASON" if you DON'T WANT notifications....so it is on their radar for '13.

I agree...this is a pain in the neck when you are just trying to get through a season (for whatever reason)

Re: Unique ways to get deeper into dynasties?

This is a tough one. I try to play every single game for at least one season (which almost never happens), and then my plan is to work on a plan to get deeper into a franchise. The VITA may be a solution to this if that is fun.

My current idea for this coming year is to play every 2012 game which will be tough since I am working on a 2k11 franchise, and then in 2013 and beyond I want to play every 6th game until September starts, and then I'll play every game.

So say I start a franchise March 10th. One game a day average means I'll finish end of August or so. Then if a season is only ((162-30)/6)+30 = around 52 human games per season. And that is now a game a day as well that could allow you to get into year ~2016 when the Show 2013 comes out.

Man, this is kind of tough. I'd just for once like to get deep enough into a baseball franchise mode where developing players matters.

I either play a series a month OR if there are no big series I play one game a week. This way I figure I get about 40 games in per season. There are times I play more or less. If there is a stretch where I am in a pennant chase in late September I tend to play more.

I love the GM aspect of the game, so I like to get 6-7 seasons in.

I play until I lose, then sim until the cpu loses. I have also picked two or three starting pitchers to focus on and only play when they pitch. Works out well for me. Got 5 seasons in on The Show 11.

I play each game with the next starter AFTER each series.
Meaning the first series of the year I play the first game (Starter 1) then I sim until the 2nd starter is on the mound but I don't count the very next game. I have to go at least 1 series ahead.

I'm always trying to find a good way to do this, but I get so annoyed when the cpu loses for me, or ESPECIALLY when a player gets injured when I'm not in control... I always start thinking, "what would have happened if I had been actually playing that game?".

Re: Unique ways to get deeper into dynasties?

I have an easy solution, just never stop playing previous versions of the game. If you have the time to play multiple games per day or week, you would be able to get really deep into your franchises in each previous version of the game.

I would still be playing 08' if i weren't such an idiot once my game quit working. i deleted all my files on my ps3 for the game after that. then I remembered that all i had to do is go out and by a new copy of the game...

I wish i would have kept it going. I had Huston Street 46/46 in saves in one season. I was looking forward to trying for the consecutive saves record...

that is the only way i could ever see anyone doing it with out simming...

I know that there are tons of people out there that are still playing games like mvp 05 and all star baseball 05... there is no crime in playing one or more older version of the games in a series...
