    Me?

I can't Sim...at all, ever, have to play every at bat of every game otherwise I don't feel the results are "mine", have to live and die completely by my own doing.

Makes it harder to go years deep into a franchise but I'm so set in my ways I can't change now
Yeah same for me but it is just so hard for me to play 162+ games. Shortened seasons would be nice...

Well, that's why I don't mind doing MOM. It still causes some strange things to happen that I wouldn't have happen if I play, but at least I still get to watch every pitch and make managerial decisions.

This year is going to be easy for me with the Vita. I travel a lot so on the road I'll have something to do now. All those long flights will seem short.

Thanks to sbmnky, I've been able to get through multiple seasons.

            • 4 games against division opponents: 2 home, 2 away
              • X*4 = Z, where X=number of teams in your division minus your team, where Z= the amount of games played
              • So if I'm the Dodgers, I'd play the 4 other teams 4 teams each. 4*4=16

            • 2 games against inter-division (NL Central/NL East): 1 home, 1 away
              • X*2 = Z, where X= number of teams in NL Central/NL East, where Z= number of games played
              • I'd play the 11 teams in NL Central & East each twice. 11*2=22

            • Any 6 games of interleague play: 3 home, 3 away
              • 6 games total - you choose which games

            • Add 16+22+6= 44 games

I'm going to add a wrinkle and get those 44 games in prior to Sept. 1st so I can pick and choose any game in Sept or all of them if I'm in the race. With aub's strategy you could play anywhere between 40-80 games depending on how successful your team does.

I'm hoping this system will allow my to play at least 3 seasons. I'll mostly likely sportscast the games I don't play using a different profile, so I can keep my game states (the games I play) separate from the simmed ones.

            Does that make sense?

Play everyday, as many games as you can a day.

Got through 2 seasons doing that last year, but then again, now, i have a girlfriend, so we'll see what happens hah.

                Two possibilities:

                (1) Train her to play some franchise games for you.
                (2) Dump or be dumped.

You'll finish more games either way.

So tabarnes and I asked if they could put that into the game.....perhaps using the "SIM TO DATE" if you WANT notifications.....and the "SIM SEASON" if you DON'T WANT notifications....so it is on their radar for '13.

I agree...this is a pain in the neck when you are just trying to get through a season (for whatever reason)

The way I play franchise is to simulate the entire regular season and then play the playoff games.

I don't always do it that black-and-white, but it's the general idea.

Sometimes I'll pop in and play a few regular season games. Sometimes I'll even simulate a few games in the playoffs and onlly play the series clinching games.

I'm very involved in the offseason though so I get the GM feel.

I find that I make a lot of franchise progress and there is a lot of suspense leading up to the playoffs because I really want to play the games, but if I don't make it...no luck.

This one is probably my favorite so far. I may have to cut out a few games somewhere to get into the 30-35 game range but I like how this is a formula. I don't want to have to pick and choose which games because I will feel like I'm taking advantage of the schedule in a way. This method "forces" you into playing certain games against important teams.
