Don't get me wrong, I sooooo appreciate all the videos/pics you've been taking, but why is the audio so horrible? The Royals/Jays video was much better! Are u taking video with a camera or a cell camera? Just curious. Thanks so much for all your time keeping us informed! LaterComment

Re: MLB 12 playable at Best Buy
Okay, for those in Upstate NY the BB in Victor, NY at Cobblestone Court has the game on in the store.
Just fired up a game between the Redsox (me) and the Rays. I should have switched out David Price for the Rays to give me a fair shot. I played 6 inning, did not score, and basically had the dude at the store watch me as I set the game up like I normally do. There was a nice view from the outfield, but zoomed in on the pitcher a bit for the Behind the Pitcher view. I set everything to Broadcast for defense, offense etc.. HOF difficulty all around, and I noticed a few new things that I liked a lot.
~ Pulse Pitching is cool, but it made me so full of angst as to when to press the button, I went back to true analog. The controllers at the BB were B.E.A.T.. I mean, so loose and sloppy that I can not tell you i got a great read on the controls, but it seemed like I did not get the timing for the Pulse Pitching to be the small target. There is a delay, so when you see it at the smallest circle, and press the A button, there is some learning curve to when you actually have to press it to get the target the smallest. I will try it for a full game, but I immediately wanted to check out the Analog pitching, as that is what I will use. The overhaul was nice. The ball is more crisp and easier to see within the frame of the pitching bars, and on HOF and NO SLIDER tweaks AT ALL, the pitching was less accurate than last year. Again, this may because the controller was just so whooped, but I loved the fact that I was not painting every corner. (I used Bucholz by the way)
~ Infielding with Analog felt really good, I turned two DP's in the game, and everything was smooth and very nice. The speed of the fielders is too fast for me out of the gate, so i will slider-adjust that again, but overall, the Analog fielding felt very tight. I turned the Meter to On, but honestly, it appears to me to be more of a "Uh oh, that throw is going to be off" than a discernable and usable meter. Once the input for the throw is in, unless you cancel it, there is not adjusting the accuracy mid-throw ala MVP. Still on HOF, I had 2 DPs, a throw from short, and a 2 throws form Pedey to get outs, with no errors or off line throws. So, not to shabby.
~Veterans of this game will hit the ground running, so there is not as big of a leap in gameplay as there was last year.
~I tried Analog Plus Zone Hitting... I suck terribly. Still. My stride is terrible.. ugh. So, that lasted 10 pitches and three strike outs in the first, then went right back to Zone with the PCI thing off. Not sure I like the yellow/tan PCI with the speckles, but whatever, it can be shut off.
~BIG PROPS> The game plays Soooo much differently with the ball and the physics, and the spin. It is, to say it plainly, a whole new game. I saw chopped foul balls, I saw a line drive catch off the bat of Ortiz that seemed to hang in the air while Upton came in on it, and it looked perfect, based on what I am guessing was some killer backspin on the ball. It was a hit I NEVER saw before, and it is to explain, but the ball feels more live. Like it acts like it ought to, especially with the broadcast camera. Very nice. Another thing I had never seen- I shut of the fielding marker and just have the landing indicator on. So kind of a swirling ball on the outfield where the outfielder has to get to. It seemed a whole lot bigger out in Right field, than last year, which made me concentrate on getting my guy in the middle of that bigger target area. If this changes based on how good your fielder is, I will kiss someone. Ross looked like a 5th grader out there wallowing around in the sun. He made the catch, but it was a white knuckler with the ball swirling around.
I popped up a ball to Longoria in foul territory with a 17,mph wind blowing in from right (i see the high wind speeds are back).. So Longoria waves off the SS, and drifts to the foul side of the line, then has to come back quickly and make the catch as the spin of the ball tailed it back towards the bag. Totally new, and very authentic looking.
~I stuck out 6 Rays with Bucholz, and David price beat me up something fierce and i managed 2 hits. A double by Ortiz, and a single into shallow right with Pedroia. I did throw out tow guys at second with Ellsbury on balls at the base of the wall, and I nailed Upton and Longo at second .. I will adjust this, and again, he got to the ball way too quickly for my tastes, so i will neuter his speed with the sliders.
I had to go and get my daughter at school, and I walked away after 6 full at a 0-0 tie.
Although not as big a leap as last year was, the ball movement, the heaviness to the pitches, and the overall feel of the game is more true to life, and a lot of fun.
I will head back tonight after the kids go to bed, and see if I can wrangle the controller out of the guy that works there again..
So far, so great.

Re: MLB 12 playable at Best Buy
Ok. I only got 3 minutes of Red Sox/Yankees gameplay. It's an awesome 3 minutes though. Trust me. Red Sox fans will enjoy it. Plus being that short, Steve can get it uploaded pretty quickly when I get it to him.Comment

Re: MLB 12 playable at Best Buy
Just got back from Best Buy and am uploading new videos. Since there' been so much gameplay footage, I thought I'd focus on some other stuff. So I got:
--Edit player menu, cycling through attributes, personalization and equipment (didn't cycle through all the colors on each equipment item as they're the same)
--Scroll through complete MLB rosters for each team.
-- Hats and jerseys for the Cardinals, since I forgot them last time.
Apologies for not being able to fill other requests today. I was on a tighter time schedule than usual.Comment
