Another little gripe...with the 14 umpire personalities in the game this year, Matt V doesn't even tell me the umpiring crew before the game. I know the umpires were mentioned in the Pre-Game last year. Looks like SCEA removed that. I also have not heard an umpire called by name during the game.

Variety.. every game I have played can be described by that word. This is quite a game, thank you. I know for about 1 hour, I'm going to be drawn in my own little fantasy world and everything else is blocked out.

There is absolutely nothing for me that doesn't immerse me into this game, wow. It's like they have spent tons of time on each part of this game.

How anyone gives this game anything but a 9+ is beyond me. Maybe it's just because I'm a n00b to this series? I'd probably give it a perfect score right now very early into playing.

Glad I turned on HR celebrations, found that option last night.

Starting to get that old familiar feeling with variable umps. I like the premise of variable umps, but man I hate how it is implemented. It seems more like "random" umps instead of variable.

Played a real good game against the Pirates with the Orioles. But I was starting to get frustrated. 1st inning fastballs just below the knee were strikes, 2nd-4th they were balls, 5th and 6th strikes again. But then it wasn't always that way. One half inning I was getting the pitch called a strike and the cpu having it called a ball, a few innings later visa versa. One one hand I like it and on another it seems to random to be the way it is described. IDK, but this was one of the few things I haven't liked the past few years.

I've now seen 5 dropped fly balls in about 8 games. That's with the fielding error slider at 6 or 7. No way I should have seen it that much by now. Either the fielding error slider has something wrong with it or the dice rolls are the same between the IF and OF. Something is off there.

When using your bullpen I would recommend using the stretch and toss method when your guy is warm. If you sit him down they cool off too quickly imo. After one batter they drop into the cold range and lose about 35% of their warmth. That's too fast imo.

I have seen a couple double plays broken up which is nice. I never used to see that back in the Show 09.

On All-Star the cpu works my pitcher. I know some felt it may be an issue with low pitch counts on the higher levels but not for me on All-Star. I definitely run up my pitch count.

This game is playing great on all star. I did not even have to touch the sliders so far. I lost 6-5 in my first game and it is 0-0 in the 5th in my second game. Pulse pitching is the best pitching interface ever. It works so well. MLB 12 is excellent so far.

game is the real deal - you can just see the polish on it, it's like they got it down to a perfect science imo.

Played a game last night, I was Boston at home and went against the Yanks. I won 3-2 with a walk off hr with pedroia. I had 12 ks with Beckett pitching on HOF - gave up 8 hits.

I've tuned down the pitch speed one notch and reduced the timing window one notch as well, until I can start to hit again. Only hitting on allstar this year (HOF previous) using timing and I have not gotten past 6 hits yet in 5 games. ...I need to just keep seeing more pitches and get my eye back, loving it so far.

Got the game yesterday and the first thing I did was an exhibition with the Mariners.
I couldn't play with them; their rosters/lineups are too inaccurate for me to handle, for now.
Then I played Dodgers vs. Marlins with the Dodgers. The umpire personalities definitely showed there as Kershaw wasn't getting those 'strike on the corner' calls but Johnson was easily getting those!
Needless to say, I won 3-1. A cool little thing that happened to me was Karros was talking about how James Loney needs to boost his power up, and during that sentence I hit a no-doubter in to the second in right.

Is it just me or does the batting gloves in the pocket is not same color your batter wears while at bat? Last year they did a good job with this..

Every game Ive played has ended with a score of 3-2, 2-1 or 3-1 on All Star. Using Zone hitting the feedback says im making perfect or good timing on a lot of my swings. I'm going to bump the human/cpu contact up a tick to get more offense.

One thing that you have to remember is that The Show is geared towards realism, so just because you time everything perfect, that does not promise a solid hit; you also have to take into account ratings of the batter, ratings of the pitcher, etc....That may not be the problem, but just wanted to throw that out there.

The timing thing is one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Great tool for feedback, but also gives people this impression that the game is broken when they don't see results.

It's baseball. I scored a run on a weak hit that bounced a few feet in front of home plate. Sometimes the ball just bounces your way. Sometimes it doesn't.

I appreciate the thought and have heard that before. It's just a little frustrating to take the Yankees and go against Mike Pelfrey and go hitless for 5 innings when im being patient, waiting for my pitch and putting good contact when I get it. The process I described before makes me think maybe I should bump up the sliders b/c it's not a matter of not taking the right approach or needing to improve in the game with more experience. Ive played 7 games most i've scored is 4

Hmm, I play with Auto-Baserunning (hate all you want, but baserunning controls have never enticed me in a video game. I find them all cumbersome. Too much switching of buttons, changing focus).

But I'm discovering that SCEA has removed Auto-Stealing this year. Very disappointing as I enjoyed the AI baserunner making his own decision to swipe a base while I was up at-bat.

I don't like feeling as if I should always steal 2nd with my fastest guy, which is what I end up doing when I have that control.

If anything, there should be an option for Auto-Stealing. It's sorely missed.

Pulse Pitching - giving the realistic feel to pitching. You know where you want to hit and sometimes if you don't deliver properly you miss and get burned.

Player reactions to making a bad play or delivering a bad pitch for a walk or hit.

Sounds are much improved. The thwap of the ball hitting the mit or the crack of the bat. Very well done.

Crowd models are much more varied and improved.

Tweaks to the farm system seem to have been made. Gone are the days of laboring away in AA with no reward for consistent goal achievement and god like stats.

Graphics are drastically improved. Glare on the helmet or sweaty players.

Physics seem spot on this year.

So far that is all I can think of but will post more as I get more familiar with the game.

Perfectly put. This is the most realistic sports game ever and it captures baseball a way no other sports game has before. Baseball is baseball and you can be in a 2-25 slump and boom you can go 4-4 with 2 homers 4rbis and the slumps over. Remember your considered successful if you get 3 hits in 10 AB's. You will not and I repeat NOT get a hit in every AB. It's what makes baseball great and you usually see something you've never seen before while playing or watching.
