Ive tried playing mainly with the default rosters and i am going to try the osfm offseason 13 ones bc im a die hard O's fan.

Anyway can you guys give me some pointers, help me figure out franchise mode bc it is really deep and the level of control is AWESOME so I REALLY wanna get good at it.

I need a franchise to play as, not a really easy one. Ideally this is what I need some help with, how to rebuild a franchise. I have no idea how to rebuild. I want a good team to rebuild a lead to a championship.

Also should I play all the games/ manage them?

Any help at all would be so very much appreciated guys, this seems to be overall a very good community. I am merely someone who because he just started playing MLB 12 the show last month absolutely fell in love with the sport of baseball in way that I never had before. So I am still fairly new to in depth baseball talk as well as the show in general.

I do try and draft guys with A potential but they suck when I pick them up.

Anyways please help I will be very grateful towards you

first off, i would choose someone other than your favorite team. i love the rays, but when i play with them, i get frustrated more easy than anyone else if i lose a game, especially to a division rival. plus, i get frustrated when a player sucks in the game when he is tearing it up in real life.

i chose the rockies who are a good team to start with. i recommend them, the padres, reds, brewers, A's, nationals or white sox. the giants are fun because their pitching is off the charts, but scoring runs is tough.

as for rebuilding, not picking the O's will help. you wont be attached to anyone. build slowly. you have to ask how many seasons you will want to run through? some people play one game per series and sim the rest. this helps them go through several seasons. if you play every game, then you will have to trade like crazy to have success soon.

so before i go on, what are you planning?

Swept by the Cubs to finish the first half of the season. Going to play the Home Run Derby & All-Star Game before starting my series against Atlanta. I'm 38-48. Gotta step my game up.

well, i officially hate the giants. they likely ended my season. i scored only 1 run total in the first two games of a four game series and lost 5-1 and 1-0. i won the last two, but this leaves me 7 games out of first place with 13 remaining.

the only possibility to win the division is sweeping all 7 remaining games against arizona and hope i win more of the other games.

the wild card is just a pipe dream. milwaukee was running away with the majors, but lost 14 of 17 and still had a 5 game lead on me. the cardinals past them briefly but both teams are winning again so one will get the wild card.

the cool thing is a couple of my call ups look pretty good and i made some nice moves this season. realistically i will have a much better team next year. this season would have been a minor playoff miracle if i had made it.

once i am eliminate, i will sim the rest of the season and start spring training a few days later.

            Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I'm 40 games(21-19) in my fantasy draft season and I'm still treading water. My late inning relievers(League/Soria) are shaky at best and Bailey and Volquez are having trouble getting out of the 5th inning. Leading the league in runs scored by a pretty fair margin but my pitching just stinks overall. Scherzer, Gallardo and Bumgarner do their jobs but my bullpen is like a giant gas can.
The reason I'm above .500 is Matt Kemp who is on one of the most remarkable hot streaks I've ever witnessed in this game.
Batting .355 with 16HR and 51 RBI. That won't last forever though so I really have to do something to fix my pitching issues.

edit: The Cleveland Indians are the most annoying video game lineup ever assembled.
I can't beat them as I probably rely on the strkeout too much and they are just singling me to death.
            Fowler
            Pedroia
            M.Young
            Matsui
            Huff
            Y.Molina
            Frazier
            Schierholtz
            Ryan

They aren't rated very highly but they just don't K which leads to my starters getting tired early and they obliterate my gas can bullpen. Every game against them is so frustrating.

The New York Mets have skidded off the rails and it appears any shot at the postseason is gone. Losers of five straight, the Mets are 57-61 and are 11 games behind Atlanta for the NL East Divison, and 10.5 games behind Miami for the Wildcard.

Just won the ALCS 4 games to 1, going to play the Dodgers or Cards. Looking forward for the chance to get WS #28!

Both. I won the ALCS and have yet to play WS game 1, and I'm waiting for MLB '13 until I try to play every game of a season. I simmed most of the regular season with my current Yankees franchise.

I'm at the begininng of the second half of the season. I swept the Braves at the beginning of the second half, & that's a good sign. I'm 41-48 though, planning to play the remaining 73. But since I'm back in school, time is a factor.

I haven't played MLB 12 in a while because I don't want to play it too much before 13 and then be burnt out on baseball. I will wait to make a franchise on 13 with the Astros. As we all very well now by now the Astros will be the worst team on the game so it will be tough to have any success so I am going to do what they do in real life and rebuild. I didn't like the thought of rebuilding on MLB 12 but with the new additions to scouting and training I think it will be effective.
I know this is the MLB 12 franchise thread but I have been excited for the new game for a while. This will also be the first time I am going to download the OSFM rosters. So I have a question, When exactly does the OSFM roster come out? If it comes out at the beginning of the regular season that is going to be a very long wait but so far i've heard its worth the wait.

Lost the first game against the Nationals, then won the second one. Rubber game coming up, then going back to NY to face the Dodgers, who swept me last time in L.A. 70 games to go (& more if I make the playoffs).

Progress has grinded to near-halt in my New York Mets franchise. I just haven't had much time to play any video game in the last 2-3 weeks, and even when I do find time, I'm not always interested in playing this particular game.

I'm 61-63 on the season. The Rockies are in town for a 4-game series; they won the first two games by a combined 20-6. I won the third game 4-3 and should finish the series up today.

I am headed out-of-town this week for work, so I hope to get 7-10 games in during that time.

I'll be picking up MLB 13 but am still going to finish out all 162 games in this season.

Simmed first year with the Rox. We finished aroung 70-92. Only move was trading Michael Cuddyer and Johnathon Sanchez to the Tigers for flamethrower Bruce Rondon. In the offseason I signed RF Nick Swisher, RP Octavio Dotel, and 2B Robert Andino.
