    Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

13-6 right now with the T-Pads and just had a flurry of moves and I feel like a new team.

LHP Joe Thatcher got put on the DL and they took LHP Josh Spence from me and I received RHP Eddie Kunz from AA. RHP Jorge Reyes took his spot in AA.

SS Everth Cabrera got called up and I got INF Andy Parrino in return.
Also got LF Kyle Blanks and RF Jeremy Hermida now and sent down Cody Decker and Amadeo Zazueta to AA. Padres released Zazueta in real life today so I did the same and signed OF Kyung-Min Na (an extra padre player sitting in FA). He was assigned to single A.

Andrew Cashner continues to dominate, almost had a no hitter with him in AAA.

I have a franchise going as the Rangers. I play a game per series. In the games I've played we are 13-9. But when sim we are. 30-8. Our record right now is 43-17. I don't know what the deal is. They don't lose when I sim.

They are the top-rated team in the game, so it's not a huge surprise that they'd do well in a simulation.

This game never ceases to amaze me!

As a former slider obsessor, I had a game last night that would have made me go bonkers if it had happened in game 9, rather than in game 99.

With the wind blowing out at only 5MPH, I did something I had NEVER done. I killed Boston 19-3 last night (would have been 19-1 of I hadn't pitched Aardsma in the 9th), and hit 7 homeruns on 21 hits!

          A-Rod hit 3, and Granderson hit 3!

          And Kuroda was brilliant, again!

Wow, what a statement we made to BOS last night! Honestly, it felt pretty good.

My slide continues. The D-Backs took 2 of 3 from my Braves. I've now lost 7 of 9. My pitching has been abysmal of late. And the East is now very interesting with a three-way tie atop the standings.

            Phillies (45-33)
            Braves (44-32)
            Nationals (44-32)
            Marlins (39-37)
            Mets (36-41)

Absolutely loving this dynasty. Most fun I've had with a sports game in a long time.

Edit: Looked at the full standings, and there's a three-way tie among the Dodgers, Padres and D-Backs in the NL West, too.

              Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

Long time since I posted in this thread. I put the game down for about a month as I was really busy. Picked up my 'chise this morning from where I left off. I'm 48-38 with the Rays and 2.5 GB of the Wild-Card behind Boston at the All-Star break.

              - Longoria, as in real life, suffered a multi-week injury, but, just came back before the break and hopefully he can help for the stretch run. He's only played in 35 games for me thus far.

              - BJ Upton has been showing off that gap power all season with 26 doubles. Plus, he's scored 40 runs and has 23 stolen bases already as well. I'm thinking a 20/20 season may be in order for him as he also has 10 HRs as well.

              - Desmond Jennings has also been showing off that power/speed combo that I love with very similar numbers to Upton. He's got 10 HRs, 16 SBs and 3 triples.

              - Zorilla and Pena have displayed their patience at the plate as they both sport high OBP numbers. Zobrist is at .389 and Pena is at .357.

              - Pena also has 98 K's thus far too...lol...He may hit the 200 mark this season.

              - Matt Moore and "The Big Nyquil" Jeff Niemann lead the team in wins with 7 apiece.

              - Hellboy is struggling with a 6-8 record, ERA at 5+ and a BABIP of .283

              - Farnsworth leads the team in saves with 27 in 32 opps.

              - I made one trade thus far. I moved Matt Joyce to Cincinnati in exchange for SS/2B Didi Gregorious

              - The following players represented the Rays at the AS game in Kansas City: RP Kyle Farnsworth & DH Luke Scott. Zobrist and Jennings were surprisingly snubbed.

              - Also starting a post ASG series with Boston. This is my opportunity to catch them for the WC.

                Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

A little update on my early Brewers 'chise...

I have had the worst luck with my bullpen as of late. I won 2 out of 3 against the Braves and Dodgers to stand atop the NL Central at 7-5. Then, the red-hot Rockies came to town and changed the atmosphere of Brew City. They won the first two games of the series (running their winning streak to 6), both games they came back in the 7th/8th/9th to eventually take the lead and win. Axford earned the loss in both of the contests, running his ERA up to 19.06. I ended up winning the series finale but have dropped two games back of the red-hot Reds. I also just lost Game One against the Astros, 3-2. My offense was depleted (tired, gave Braun, Weeks, and Gamel a day off) and we couldn't hit Bud Norris. Greinke pitched great, just bad offense and defense was to blame for his first lost of the year. His ERA is still below 2 at 1.39.

That was the fourth blown save for Axford, who earlier in the year gave up 5 earned in a loss against the Braves, who scored 9 in the ninth to win the game. I have now moved him to 6/7th inning duty for the time being, appointed K-Rod the closer. If this continues with the Ax Man, I may have to DFA him. As I will with George Kottaras if he cannot pick it up after his next start (only plays when Randy Wolf is on the mound, for those who don't follow the Brewers; is batting .056 with 0 HR and 1 RBI).

Earlier in the week, I felt invincible after hitting 4 dingers with Braun and now I cannot scrap together enough runs to win a game against the 30th rated Astros.

                  Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

And the Nationals take the first game of the series 6-3 to knock me out of first for the first time since late April.

I accepted the Blue Jays offer of Henderson Alvarez and Casey Janssen for Jairo Asencio a week or so ago (in game time) and it's like the baseball gods are punishing me now for it.

I finally moved Pastornicky into the starting lineup. Of course, Wilson gets a pinch-hit double.

Well... Accidentally deleted my royals franchise and I'm extremely pissed because I was doing so well... I want to do an NL Team now. I'm thinking either Nats, Phillies or Pirates. Leaning toward philly

I'm 90 games into my Twins Chise but was thinking of starting over in favor of Scotts rosters.. Any opinions?

I'll be choosing the Philadelphia phillies and simming to current date to start.

Are Scott's rosters out? What is their name under vault? I downloaded the 6/27 one. Is that his?

Scott is not done with the new version yet.

Took two out of three from the Nats, which means two things:

                              1. I'm back in first by a game.

                              2. I'm now caught up with the real season (which I blogged about).
