Don't feel bad guys, the pitch speed seems to be too much for me too. I've broken down and started using guess pitch to help me get some offensive numbers. It's worked pretty well the last few games, it just pains me that I have to use guess pitch.

I think it's a combination of the small screen and pitch speeds that's getting me.

I think it's a combination of the small screen and pitch speeds that's getting me.

It took a few games, but my eyes adjusted and the past few games, I've been lighting up the CPU (Halladay, Strausburg) on All-Star difficulty and Pitch Speed at 3. I think that may be a notch too slow (my first couple of games at 5 I couldn't hit a lick), so I'll try 4 for a few games and see how that works.

Finally completed a full game on the Vita.

PHI 2 (CPU) NYY 1 (Me)

Pretty good game. Got really use to the pitching analog on the Vita analog as the game progressed. Fielding feels smooth as butter and pretty easy as is on the PS3. But... but the analog batting is horrendous on the Vita.

I couldn't differentiate the pitches to save my life. The pitches would come so fast at me that they looked the same. Sometimes I would swing at pitches that wouldn't even be in the strike zone, and sometimes I would just stare at pitches in the middle of the strike zone.

Maybe I need more practice but at times during the game I was really making contact with the pitches and sometimes I wouldn't.

Cliff Lee pitched 125 pitches for 7.2 innings!? It took him a base hit by Russell Martin, a stolen base, and a RBI base hit by Granderson to finally knock him out of the game. He also had 15 strikeouts!

Really bad game for me offensively.

Note: I also found that going into the bullpen menu the game's framerate totally dies in there and to select something while looking at the bullpen takes a few tries to make a selection.

Yeah noticable slowdown for sure.


In other news just fninished a game I won 6-2 against the Rays, using Guess pitch. I drew 6 walks, but I also struckout 10 times. Hit 2 HR's, one peice by Tex and Swish. Had 3 doubles and lost Jeter for the rest of the spring to a back injury.

I suppose guess pitch will work for me. I didn't think I'd be able to draw many walks using it but I was apparently wrong.

some stadiums look way better than others, like Dodger Stadium looks AWESOME on the Vita and Tampa Bays looks terrible(like PSP Like)...

I have noticed this as well in my Rockies franchise. I think it maybe after a 3 game set away I just get sick of seeing the stadium and then start another road set and the stadium looks fresh.

Love the graphics overall though. Huge leap up from PSP.

I LOVE the game but I just wish I was better at it. I would settle for just being ok at hitting but I'm really awful. Scoring three runs in a game is considered a moral victory for me.

The lack of presentation and the speed of the gameplay definitely has to do with striking out a lot and losing my concentration as the game progresses.

Hitting help 101

Use guess pitch (every time) and select down in the strike zone (you are guessing location = lower part of strike zone) and select x (usually a fastball)... You are guessing fastball in lower portion of strike zone:

- if you hear and see nothing, take the pitch (about 70% of the time it will be a ball)
- if you see nothing, but hear a sound, 70% of the time it will be a fastball high in the strike zone (aim up and swing for the fence)
- if you hear nothing and see an indicator in the lower part of the plate, it will be an offspeed pitch in the strke zone (70& of the time), swing a little later
- If you hear a sound AND see an indicator in the lower part of the plate, it is either a fast ball or other pitch (you will learn the 2 different sounds), 70& of the time in the strike zone.

Basically, take when you see and hear nothing (70& correct), swing when you see or hear something (learn the sounds to know what pitch is coming and time your swing accordingly).

I changed the pitcher delay setting (or whatever it is called) to slow and that helped me a lot. When I was being fast pitched so much it was hard to keep patient.

Anyone else try to join a lobby to find a game against someone online? I saw someone say mic? I had to ask, there is a headset for the vita? he said no, I am on ps3. This boggled my mind. If there is no cross platform play, why would they combine the lobbies? It makes finding a game on vita next to impossible.

I've been hitting from the outfield batting cam. Finding it easier to track the ball for some reason. On Ps3 I use the default cam.

My problem is throwing errors. I've had to lower the throwing to rookie as it seems overly sensitive on the direction bad and had 3-5 errors per game on all-star/vet

Any tricks to this?

Haha, same here. This series has always been too hard for me, and it's not user friendly at all. Can't have a friend come over too play multiplayer because it is way too much to take in. Very complicated game.

Still like it, but I don't love it.
