Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread

Fifteen games into my Franchise in less than a week. That may not sound like a lot to some . . . but with 3 little boys and not being able to stay up as late as I used to, 15 games in that time frame would be unheard of for me on the Ps3.

The Vita version is outstanding in my opinion.

I'm playing 2-3 games per night and I love this game. I wish they would tweak the presentation but overall it's a great option for anyone that doesn't have the time to committ to the PS3 version.

This Vita is the best thing I have purchased in a year.

I debated over getting this thing for the show for months, finally I just did and I am in love. I plug away at my season, then I upload to the cloud and wonder why I even bother.

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread

I like the vita version. It feels like a different game to me, though. I can't play it the same way I play the show on ps3.

I am a "slow" player, meaning that I take my time in between pitches when batting and the vita version doesn't allow me to do that. To waste time at work (like someone said), to play at home while watching a game or to waste time while commuting, I think it's perfect. I think it's great for playing quick exhibition games or games that don't matter much.

But I DOUBT I will be taking my franchise on the road. I am just not enjoying the brisk pace and I like to take my franchise seriously and not as a quick arcadey game to waste time. It's a real shame because taking my franchise on the road was the main reason why I bought the vita version.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

This makes no sense, the only thing sped up is the replays, presentation, the game plays the same speed gameplay wise, people actually watch all the replays and presentation that gets repetitive after 2 games?

Setting Pitcher Delay to slow and practice swing helps a bit though.

I don't feel like this game is arcadey just because it doesn't have cut scenes. Cut scenes are for presenation not gameplay.

AM I the only one not really digging MLB The Show on the Vita? I do not own a PS3 and I'm kinda wishing I did have one now. I can not get hits in this game. I either strikeout due to me being too late on the ball, or I will hit a dribbler to the fielder. Not seeing alot of different style of hits. Anyone else not really enjoying their experience with this version?

It's identical to the ps3 version except smaller screen, the hitting will come, i see the same hit variety as ps3 version, both are identical with the same updated ball physics.

Is this why people get banned in a forum?

Get a life, man, seriously. I am voicing my opinion of the vita version and it doesn't have to make sense to anyone except me. The game feels different to me and if it doesn't to you, keep on doing whatever you are doing and move on.

I thought we were dealing with mature people here who were over the whole fanboyism period.

Anyway, this thread is about impressions on the vita version. If you have a problem with my opinion pm me but stop cluttering the thread.

Since the presentations are being brought up again, I did have one more thing to say about it...

As much as anyone else, I'd like to see the Vita presentation expanded upon (or given an option). HOWEVER....I will say that if the entire '12 PS3 presentation suite was thrown into the Vita (however impossible that would be ), people would be complaining about framerate chop in the cutscenes non-stop. You can see it in some of the walkup scenes especially when a lot of the crowd is shown - the framerate drops way below 30 at times. That would get really, really annoying, and not to mention hard on the eyes, over a long play session.

Point is, I can understand why they made the design decision they did, at least for this year. The need for sped-up games on a portable is a valid reason, but I think this may have played a part in it too. The game plays at 30 FPS during the parts that matter, and I had no problem with that being the focus for this year.

You tell me to get a life? i just said your post makes zero sense, saying the game is arcadey because cut scenes doesn't make sense. Who said anything about being banned? look in the mirror bro, not everyone agrees with you. Your response to someone saying you are not making sense is the opposite of mature.

if you get this angry because someone disagrees with on on a forum I hate to see how to interact with people in real life.

Explain how the cut scenes 99% of people skip after 1-2 games make a game arcadey? What does that have to do with being a fanboy? It's common sense. If you dont like the game good for you, but your reason makes zero sense. It plays identical o the ps3 version. I thought we were past the throwing out fanboy everytime someone disagreed with you're view that happens to be positive about the game? Real mature right?

me saying it makes no sense you saying that a game is arcadey because of redundant cut scenes has nothing to do with fanboyism, it has everything to do with fact and common sense.,
