If you go in Practice mode as a pitcher, you'll see the batter taking his time between pitches. Maybe when in a full game situation then it's too much.

Good things is gameplay is pretty much the same and I will for sure give it a try with RTTS which I usually don't play at home.

Few things I observed with my Vita version:

    - in replay, no players in the dugouts
    - can't zoom as close in replays
    - only 2 spring training stadiums
    - not all minor leagues stadiums are in there as well
You either misread, or whoever told you this was misinformed. The PS3 has a fullsize dedicated graphics card. The Vita is a small handheld device with a small chipset CPU/GPU.

Obviously the PS3 is going to be able to render things better. There is a lot more to a graphics card than the VRAM. Such as the core clock and shaders.

And like was mentioned. The Vita wasn't even announced until 9 months ago. I would imagine the development of this years vita version was rushed hard. And considering that, they did a great job.

The dev usually over years are able to exploit the hardware better. I know as well the PS3 multi-processor architecture render better overall.

Pinch the screen outward, you can zoom in super close.

Also, this game really needs a "Pitch Around" command. Ryan Howard at the plate so I decide to pitch around him. But hey, if I can get him to whiff at a couple outside pitches maybe I'll try and shut the door with a breaking ball. Nope, he takes all 4 pitches so my fastball confidence drops from 60% to 20%.

There's no reason I should be penalized for this. I should be able to tell the game that my intention is to pitch around this batter, thus keeping confidence the same no matter what. You basically have to select pitch-out in a pitch around situation.

The fact that you pitched around him means you didn't have confidence in the pitcher, thus leading to lost confidence. :P

I agree intended waste pitches shouldn't lead to lower confidence...

Anyone notice that you can't chase down a lot of foul balls behind home plate. A lot of times I feel I could reach the foul but I can't move my catcher.

Despite it's imperfections, this is without a doubt the best portable baseball game ever. the gameplay is for the most part, a near console experience. i am very impressed.

and of course, it's a joy to finally be able to make my franchise and road to the show anywhere. always wanted that.

OK, maybe I'm missing something. Oh - long time reader, first time poster.

Got the Vita just for this game. And I do like it a lot. The only issue I have is with baserunning in RTTS mode. Unlike the PS3 version, it looks like using the LB/RB combo for running doesn't work in RTTS mode. You have to use the analog stick, and the implementation is horrible. It seems to depend on the viewing angle of the screen. So if you're on 3rd base, and a ground ball is hit, you move the stick up and right to run home. However, if it's a fly ball and the view changes to the towards the outfield view, and it switches just before you push that stick up, all of a sudden you're running back to the base instead of home. I got thrown out at home on a single to left because I started running back to third when the view switched, and by the time I turned around with all the speed of a zamboni and ran home, the ball was waiting for me. I actually had to give up doing any base running after the hit, and that bothers me.

Am I missing something, or is RTTS baserunning just broken?

It's up and down with the analog. Angle does not matter, you don't move the analog in the direction you want to run. And if it seems like it is ignoring what you want to do, it's probably because you have baserunning set to assist.

Yeah, that's what I thought, except that example above where the view switched? I pressed 'up' and the runner went back to third.

pretty sure the angle does matter in rtts...thats why the dial rotates as the angle changes...one thing that has helped me is when the ball is in play hold the left trigger down to get a broadcast view...easier to run bases that way

Anyone else throwing out people at (first from right field) at least once a game? I'm not sure if players are slow to first or the OF's are over powered. I'm leaning towards overpowered OFer's.

Could I? Yes at least once a game. Do I? no, I don't take advantage. Although if it was in the 9th and it meant the game a would in a heartbeat.

I used to play MLB The Show 10 all the time with friends. I now have the Vita version. I truly love it so far and it's everything I've never had in a handheld sports game. WITH THAT SAID, guys, I am have the worst time hitting. I gave back-to-back "legendary" no-hitter performances to the opposing pitcher while my CPU averages about 10 or so hits a game. I've only scored 1 run in 8 games so far. I refuse to move sliders or change default difficulty because I am stubborn. I have tried both zone and timing hitting along with guess pitch. I just don't know how I am this atrocious! I never had this issue with old versions of The Show and I've played shooters for years so I know my reaction time isn't horrible... I just don't know what I am doing wrong

This may sound cliche but if you don't want to tweak sliders, all I can say is practice, practice, practice. I had to lower pitch speed all the way down. I'm still only hitting .200 but it's better than it was. I agree it seems tougher to hit this year.

My next step is to increase the timing window for my hitters but I am enjoying the fact that I'm not hitting .345+ like I did in MLB 10.
