Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread

Just picked up a Vita and MLB 12, and I have to say, it's impressive. It plays a good game of baseball, nearly on the game level at the PS3. I am disappointed at the lack of presentation, but aside from that, it's enjoyable.

I am having difficultly reading pitches like I can on the PS3. Does anybody else find it difficult to pick up balls and strikes, and how can I remedy this issue?

Meter pitching on a smal screen is also taking a bit to get used too.
    EPL - Arsenal
    MLB - Seattle Mariners
    NBA - Cleveland Cavaliers
    NFL - Philadelphia Eagles
    MLS - Seattle Sounders

I use the default camera, but may change to offset, as it seems a lot of people are using it. I struggle laying off the high pitches on the Vita.

I've been playing some ST Franchise games on Vita and it has been a good experience; I can tell I'm going to finish multiple seasons with the cross-platform compatibility.

Try lowering pitch speed all the way down. That really helped me.

I'm curious as to how many are playing with same sliders and difficulty on both platforms - excluding pitch speed.

I play with pure analog on the PS3 and timing on the Vita, but everything else is the same.

I'm playing same everything, only my camera is custom on PS3 (still similar to Catcher Offset though) and I added the landing target on Vita.

I finally had the chance to play The Show on my brother-in-law's Vita... Very cool. So if anyone wants to buy me one, you have my blessing.

I play with exact same settings sans pitch speed.

I play both with the exact same slider settings, pure analog hitting, meter pitching, and same camera angles.

I think the ps vita version is awesome.

But I have very sharp vision and not being able to change the size of the ball is disappointing. I went into batting practise and I can see the regular sized ball very well and just makes the graphics that more stunning. i really hope they fix this or come out with an update for that option because this is a huge disappointment to me. I cannot stand the large ball it looks like they are using a softball.

other than that i am very impressed but i actually am tempted to take it all back. i cannot believe i have no choice in what size of ball i am looking at

The devs said they made it bigger cuz you wouldn't be able to see it when the ball is in play.

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread

Im ready to toss my vita and this game in the thrash. Ive played about 10 games and while i have won about 6 games and lost 4. The problem is that I can not score more than 1 or 2 runs per game, I have tweaked the sliders, changed camera views, ive tried it all. Im not having a problem making contact, i dont strike out often my problem is that everytime I put the ball in play its NEVER a multiple base hit and NEVER more than 1 hit in a row. The only runs I plate are homers. This is getting old, I take almost every game to the 7th or 8th inning where my pen either holds up or collapses. Its almost comical except for the shear frustration of playing a 40 minute game only to blow a tiny lead or to lose 1-0 or 2-1, i havent even had the satisfaction of putting up a big 4/5 run inning. WTF is wrong here?

                              i am aware of that.

but i can see the ball fine in home run derby and batting practice and there is always the ball indicator for my fielders to run to...still do not understand why they don't allow the option.

i still cannot get over this and if they cannot supply this option i have to take this game back as well as the ps vita as this ruins it for me. i really thought they did a great job with this version but this softball is ruining my experience what's worse is it doesn't seem like there will be an option. i am gonna have to call customer service and politely ask what is up with the no option.

There's also text in the commercial that says the screen images are simulated (or something to that affect).
