Tjspeaks that is really helpful....thank you. I would still welcome a slower pitch speed if it happened to arrive in a patch, but that 101 advice is good stuff.

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
In other news I may just stick with guess pitch for good. I've drawn 17 walks in my last four games. One of those games was against Beckett who threw 5. I have screen shots but don't know how to put them up here yet.
Allstar defaults with the exception of pitch speed down 2.
I actually don't even have guess pitch as on in the settings but for some reason I guess it still works. I just tap the pitch and location and it gives a better idea as to where the pitch is going to be. It's done wonders.
My last 4 games.
Won 6-4
Won 11-5
Lost 4-2
Up 3-2 in the 7th, game in progress. (vita sleep mode haha)Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
My last two games I didn't realize that me sliders had not been saved. I had two great wins even though I was using the default All-Star settings.
I thought I had the speed turned down to zero and contact and timing all the way up.
Obviously part of my problem is mental....Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
I've been hitting from the outfield batting cam. Finding it easier to track the ball for some reason. On Ps3 I use the default cam.
My problem is throwing errors. I've had to lower the throwing to rookie as it seems overly sensitive on the direction bad and had 3-5 errors per game on all-star/vet
Any tricks to this?
This has been such a riveting experience, by the way. I thought I would probably be about 80/20 when it came to playing on PS3 versus Vita, but it's almost been the exact opposite... maybe 70/30 so far with the Vita dominating play. It's mostly been because I've had more opportune times to play on Vita lately. I had a 90 minute break the other day and squeezed two games in. Between my sister's softball games during a tournament yesterday, I also played two games. Played one late last night while in bed, another one this morning while in bed watching the Knicks game, and another one downstairs on the couch while the fam was playing back Thursday's American Idol.
I also think it marked the first time that my mom knew I had a Vita. I wasn't ever being discrete about it, but I never threw it in her face either. Suddenly she thinks I'll be obsessed with it (which I am obviously), but she doesn't realize that I've practically had this thing for a month now. How many times has she seen me with it before that? Apparently never. I don't think she can be complaining too much about this thing overconsuming me where I could be doing better things with my time.
Besides, how could one be doing better things when you have The Show on the go?Last edited by Blzer; 03-11-2012, 03:19 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
Got one today as a gift with MLB the show. Have a feeling I too will be playing the vita more. Now all we need is knights roster and I'm set. Goal is to get the Buccos above .500.
I'm stoked.Madden 17

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
I like the Pitcher Full view, but the speed of the motions are dramatically slowed down (framerate issue I believe). I go to outfield or broadcast view so that motions are real-time and fluid. Although the crowd looks bad from that view.Comment

Has anyone figured out how to have the catcher re-signal the pitch yet? It's one of the triggers on PS3, but I can't find a way to do it on the Vita.Comment

yes, much more time to get those changes in. I haven't missed one yet since changing it, whereas I was having a really hard time on the default setting.

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
I like it a lot. My first Show experience. I have been playing RTTS (2b and a p). Started out on rookie and am progressing up level(s) as I go. Going with zone hitting and pulse pitching for now.
Very tough to tell balls and strikes. I think I have 1 walk in about 120 PA.
I also think the baserunning controls are completely terrible. Cant make sense out of it and I have meant to round 3rd for home a few times and instead stopped dead in my tracks to head back to 2nd. Or stop on third, then run home and get thrown out.
Other than that, it is a great feeling game for a handheld.Comment

It took about a week of getting used to, and tweaking, but I think I prefer the Show in the Vita now.Comment
