i didn't like it when similar systems were used to make free throws in early basketball games and I don't like it now. sticking to classic again.

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?
Not really unsure why everyone seems to like this so much...There really is nothing to it, and it is clearly not as good as MLB2K's system. I agree that it may be the best option for pitching in the game, but not because it's so great, just because the other options are really not very good at all.
Anyways... CLEARLY to YOU.
That's not a fact just because you feel like it is.Joshua:

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?
For me, it's harder with the ball marker on... I try to paint the corner more. I turned it off I'm on legend...and still not walking people. I think I've got the "feel" of itComment

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?
But, to answer your question, I think hardcore guys (the ones that are using it) like it because it's basically a graphical version of High Heat's pitching mechanic (which I still think is the best in the business and wish SCEA would fully adopt as an option).
As one poster pointed out, it feels like you're pitching to a zone and trying to pinpoint a spot in that zone. If you don't, the ball will travel anywhere within that zone.
Honestly, I'm not having the problem others are having with the ball going no where close to the circle. I wonder if guys are realizing that the pulse is pitch break and not pin point with breaking balls?"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?
can anybody chime in with some thoughts/plus/minuses on all four?
PP is getting some rave reviews as well as people who want nothing to do with it.
Analog to me is fun, but i'd like some more walks. Plus in certain stadiums because of the broadcast cam, the BIG cone blocks the batter and ruins the look of the view.
i do like doing the rock and fire tho.
Classic intrigues me because of the zen feel to it. But is it too simple?Comment

What I like just has to do with me and not everyone else, but it is only fair for us that dont like it to express it. This is a forum that welcomes all opinons as long as it is done correctly.
Honestly I really wish they had the same pitching interface that 2k has, but I feel both titles are solid games and present fun in their own ways.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?
For anyone complaining about headaches or fatigue, have you guys tried turning the light off in your room, and playing with the brightness/contrast on the tv? I think the reason behind the uncomfort, which I know isn't a word, is that the pulse circle thingy is faint and thin. It certainly isn't invisible - but as fast as that thing pulses, it could have been made easier to see. Turning off any other lights makes your eyes expend less effort to focus on your television, reducing the brightness or backlight (depending on your TV), does the same.Comment

You call this casual? You guys are nuts at SCEA!

Just adds a lot to the nerves.... So glad they added the system. Just need rosters and it's all overJoshua:

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?
For us "hardcore" guys, the idea is perfect. Pressing X on a pulse is just "complicated" enough to make us meter lovers feel like we are involved in the process, but at the same time, the system is based on attributes and ratings to the point where the "classic" guys are happy too. I definitely tip my hat to SCEA for this feature.Comment

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?
I absolutely love it. Game changer for me for offline anyways. I will actually play offline against the CPU this year because of it. Don't know how it will be for online tho. Just don't like I can't lower/raise speed of pitch.PSN: ToxicitiComment

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?
I guess I always fall back to the meter as I feel like it allows me the most input as to how successful the pitch is going to be.
When I tried using PP for 3+ innings I still couldn't get the hang of it, and worse yet, really didn't enjoy using it. But from the feedback I am reading, lots of ppl seem to really be enjoying it.
I may have to give it another shot.Comment

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?
Sorry if this has been asked, haven't read through the entire thread, is anyone noticing low velocities? I know you can't control speed with PP but I was 'only' throwing 94-95 with Hanrahan, 95-96 with Kimbrall, 89-90 with Cliff Lee, and Halladay's sinker 86-87. I have been exclusively using PP so far and am not sure if its a ratings thing or the system. If its the system, I may have to unfortunately switch to a different one.Comment
