Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

It's taken a little bit of an adjustment but I've finally mastered at least my fastball location after about 3 exhibition games.

I usually never walk batters, I ended up walking about 8-9 combined with Cole Hamels, Dontrelle Willis, Mike Stutes, Antonio Bastardo, and Jonathan Papelbon in my first game against Boston.

I'm really liking it now that I've gotten used to it.

Pitching takes a lot longer but I've gotten the hang of it.

What I've been doing is counting the pulses rhythmically so I'll count to 10 with the pulses and press the button on 10. Works most of the time.

i like it because its user skill and player attributes its like classic but with user skill. theres still some randomness especially when youre confidence goes down. and you cant just count to 3 because the pulse varies from pitcher to pitcher you cant master it like meter. the meter never varies. when you pitch with youre aces and confidence is high yes you can almost master it. but not with lower teer pitchers even with high confidence. plus i like how if im struggling with my changeup confidence wise the pulse is the size of the strikezone! whereas with my fastball confidence is high pulse is much smaller and less variation! there will never be a better more realistic pitching option for a baseball video game. as someone said earlier its groundbreaking and makes you want to play every game! Kudos to SCEA!!!!! i love pulse!

Quoted for people who question why in the world some would have the opinion that it breaks the immersion.

Ghetto Anthony is counting to 10 in time with the pulses!!

I was counting in my head too when I tried it.

Absolutely agree. At first I struggled with Ricky Romero, gave up 4 runs in the 1st and walked two. Settled into a groove after that and only allowed one more run over the next five. Every pitcher's pulse is different, which made it imperative that I use all the warm pitches out of the pen.

Lost to the Pirates paying as the Cards with Wainright giving up 6 runs in the first two innings. I can see me struggling early in every game until I get more comfortable with it. Even so, I'm really digging it.

I am doing the same thing except I am usually only counting to 5. Helped tremendously when I started doing this.

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

To anyone asking for tips...here's all I've figured out:

As soon as I select the pitch, I count 9 pulses and throw on the 9th.

Don't know why 9 seems to work it just does... your GF might think you're a little crazy sitting around counting out loud but.....

I was unsure before, but now I think I love pulse pitching. It really started to sink in by the 7th inning and each inning after gets better.

                  Great Job!!!!

Well I enjoy it nonetheless. What do you recommend to keep the immersion then? Play meter and never miss my spots?

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

Iv figured out an excellent way to get better at pulse pitching. What I do is count to 4. I say 1 when the circle is closest to the ball and I do that with 2,3,4 and four until I get it perfectly with my counting. And on my 2nd or 3rd count down from four I hit it perfectly almost every time. Works for me I'm loving it might have to up it to all star

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

I love it, especially for sliders which I can place much more accurately with pulse than I could with meter.

I played a full shutout game online with CC/Mo and had no trouble. Also finished a season as a closer in RTTS with only one walk, total. I don't really get why people are getting increased walks with this?

I like the idea of it but it needs a lot of work. The pulse is too fast and gives me a headache. Love analog but its a little too accurate.

Pulse pitching makes me feel like I'm going to have a seizure.

Yet another year of Classic pitching for me.

I did. It was really starting to bother me so I switched back to analog.
