Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

I don't see how people say meter is foolproof. If you are conservative and never put too much on your pitches, sure. But at least with the pitching meter, I have some semblance of control early in the game and am able to mix up pitches the way an actual pitcher would be able to, unless they are just having a bad day. Pulse pitching seems too random. I will try practice this afternoon and see if I can't get the hang of it as someone pointed out it does help a lot, and pending no headache, maybe I can get the hang of it. But in the few innings I used it yesterday, I'd hit it with the circle small, and it'd go big and my pitch would be nowhere near where I aimed, but then later when I miss, with the same pitch, it goes close to where I want. I know there is delay, but if I wanted to play some twisted game of darts, I'd do so.

Only played one game, and of course it was with pulse pitching. It was ok, different but kinda have to concentrate on when to press the button, so looks like I'm gonna stick with classic and have a bit more relaxing games since I don't have much time to play games this year, as I work, come home and got a 5 months old son to take care of, then if i'm lucky, may get to play for a couple hours or 3 after 8-9. Fun life of a parent lol.

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

I've played 4 games with Pulse Pitching and I like it, sure it still needs some tweaking but i've really enjoyed using it. I did like Analog last year and meter before that but I am just too accurate using those two methods, PP feels more realistic to me.

Game 1 with CC I just flat out dominated (1 hit through 7), game 2 with Verlander I constantly put myself in trouble through walks but had 9 K's that helped get me out of two bases loaded jams, game 3 with Feliz I was all over the place and had to take him out in the 4th while game 5 with Lester was another total domination job.

I can understand the frustration of timing the circle at it's smallest and still not hitting your target but I really don't mind how that works, for example with Feliz there were times where it didn't seem to matter how well I timed it the pitch would just end up being over the plate but with Lester and CC I felt like I had near total control over where the pitch was going. For me that variation is great as I took it as Feliz just had one of those days where he didn't have it and Lester and CC had one of those days where they were just on. While Verlander was somewhere in the middle.

That for me gives me realistic outcomes as with the other methods I get the feeling I can pitch great with anybody if i'm focused enough but with PP the players ratings will also have a big say in how I do. I want my 5th starter to feel like a 5th starter and this will give me that.

I can't wait to get into a full franchise and get going using Pulse Pitching and i'm already excited to see where SCEA goes with this as you know it's only going to get better in future years.

I liked it at first, now I hate it. It's ugly to look at it, it adds an extra 4-5 seconds an at bat while I sweat out the timing, and I am awful at it. I'll stick to the other game for "finger mechanics".

I played two games using pulse pitching and have not had any problems with it. Have been able to hit my spots and when I don't it's entirely my fault. Still using the old school hitting but I might try the analog later today.

            Pulse pitching is great.

I'm loving the pulse pitching and getting realistic results. It's not as hard as I thought it was going to be from reading other people's posts here, but is challenging nonetheless. Great game this year!

***PULSE PITCHING TIP FOR BETTER ACCURACY AND LESS HEADACHES!!**

Okay, PP'ers. Here is your PP tip of the day.

When you select your pitch, and your pulsing meter begins to hypnotize you with its rhythmic dance, count out the pulses to yourself with the number falling on the pulses largest expanse.

I typically count it out to 5 to get the rhythm down, and when you say "five" to yourself, hit the X button. I would say that 8 times out of 10, you'll get the small circle you are hoping for.

Remember that the pulses will change between pitches, your confidence, and the guy at the plate. That is why the counting works so well, as you can count it out (in your head) for each pitch you throw, as the cadence will be different.

This worked wonders for me last night, and I have become more consistent with the locations.

                Good Luck!!

I am going to settle in with analog for the long haul. Pulse pitching is nice but analog is a little more interactive which I like. Probably will use pulse from time to time to switch it up a little.

I am lovin' pulse pitching. Here's why:

                    > The unpredictability adds even more realism to the experience. I almost got too good at Analog and Meter. Now, my pitches don't always go exactly where I want.

                    > I've walked a few people. Which almost never happened before.

                    > I like the added level of stress. Pitching gets a little mindless w/ the Analog.

Right now I'm on Veteran, as All-Star was a little too fast for entry-level.
I think I'll stick with it all year long.

If thats why you like PP, you should try "Classic"

For you players counting the pulses: are you counting the expansion or the contraction of the circle as a pulse?

I count on the expansion, and that's seeming to work for me fairly well.

I love the Analog pitching, but once again have too much control. I adjusted the sliders for Accuracy and Consitency down to zero on both, and just threw a game with Lester with no walks...

Maybe I will mix in one PP game within the series. So if the Sox are playing a three game set with the Yanks, one of the games will be Pulse Pitching, and the other two are Analog.

And maybe to make it even more fair, I go on a 5 man rotation, so each PP game is whoever's turn it is next. Lester is my #1, so when the schedule gets back through to Beckett's start, he PP's and down the line...

I want to use it, maybe just to keep the game fresh, and for a little added drama to the control portion..

Yes, expansion pulses get the count out. That way the delay of the button press on the "Five" for instance, gets you the contracting circle.
