My only rule is the aim (ball) must be touching, or at least only 1 ball width away, from the edge of zone (unless outside of the zone and then you can be wherever) unless I'm up 4 or more runs.

That's just how I like pitching. At the edges.
I also hardly ever use the suggested pitches. Just afraid a pattern will be there and the AI can and will pick up patterns.

So I base pitches of certain criteria (outs and current count) to sselect the pitch.

As long as it doesn't repelace anything we have now, I'm all for options.
I still prefer PP over "the other one"..but I like the "other one"

As far as baserunning I love the default (not classic) baserunning. Mainly because I have to down really good. Again though more options would be cool

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

I recently switched to PP, because it is so much easier to use than meter for online play. I actually don't mind it now and I recommend people using it for online play.

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

I prefer meter or classic. I just can't stand watching that pulsating circle and I really can't get any control of how to get the thing locked in at its smallest. Just way to hard for me and an eyesore, IMO. Glad others like it though. Thats the good part about the Show. Lots of options.

One thing I wish SCEA would put in with classic pitching. I know if you tap the x button, you'll throw a slower/less effective pitch, and if you hold it in, its like maxing out the meter with a faster, more effective pitch, but with less accuracy. I'd really like it if there was an in between, where the whole thing was on a scale. Tapping would be one extreme, holding the button until release would be the other extreme, but you could let go somewhere in between to get a mix of both.

The best advice I can give for PP is to turn on balks and take your time.. no need to rush a pitch.

I also listen to my catcher about 90% of the time.

I didn't notice much difference from the meter, it feels less realistic than the wind up meter

Re: Is anyone else loving Pulse Pitching?

Tried it on All-Star defaults for my first game and threw 12 walks in a 12-inning game with the Cubs! Struck out 4 and gave up 8 hits, with just one homer in a 3-2 loss.

I was an analog guy for '11. I liked it but like others said, it was hard to walk players, although I had some house rules that helped.

Comparing the two, here's what I see initially:

--PP wins hands down for strategy. It is really tough to throw a breaking ball in a 3-ball count., whereas I wouldn't think twice about doing it with analog.

--Analog wins hands down for mechanics. The thing I miss the most when using PP is the rhythm of rocking the right stick back and then forward. Very immersive.

--Analog wins for visual interface. The pulse is kind of annoying.

--Analog wins for speed. Pulse definitely takes longer.

--PP wins for difficulty. I agree with others that it was a little too easy to pitch well with bad pitchers in analog, or to throw a pitcher's lesser pitches really well. Trying to throw a PP pitch when the pitch has a low meter is tough.

I'm going to keep working PP for a bit and see if I can get a little more used to the interface. I think it's a great addition even if I wind up not using it, just because so many others are enjoying it.

I just pitched a 3-hit shutout against the Yankees, in Yankee stadium, with my DD team using Pulse Pitching. Took me a couple of games to see the nuances to be successful, but I'm definitely enjoying it.

Same here. I'm on all star and playing with the pirates and have given up only 3 runs in two complete games against the Philies. I did lose one though. I also haven't walked more than two per game.

But my very first game, I walked like 7 or so. So I'm wondering if they are flukes or if I should move to HOF.

And I follow the catchers suggestion at least what seems like 98% of the time.

I really like it. It is the perfect compromise between the realism of control with classic pitching and the effect of user input.

No way to enjoy it with the Vita, I have tried to push X when the circle is small and when the circle is big and can't ever get the small circle, looks too random.

Will try it in the Ps3 but i think i'll stick to analogic or classic at least in the Vita.

I enjoyed it but I think Classic is the way for me. I still throw my fair share of walks, and cut down on game time by 5-10 minutes.

I've read most of the posts in this thread, but no one has mentioned this...

I see people talking about counting 5 or 10 "pulses". My theory is to NOT count and to not overthink it. When I concentrate too much on timing is when I find myself walking hitters or giving up home runs. DON'T think about it and you'll have more success.

I hope this makes sense because I can't think of a better way to put it...
