Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Just had the most epic game ever with my SS!!!! was down 10-2 in thhe bottom on the 8th with bases loaded no outs I hit a grounder at 3rd base an it bounces off the bag into the stands for a 2 RBI ground rule double. I'm like okay big whoop 10-4 games still over. Well next appearance I'm up again in the same inning!! My team batted around an had the bases loaded again with the game tied 10-10. Well what do you know a liner up the middle for another 2 RBI doubl wins the game

Hey guys, I tried finding an answer and posting this in the Q&A thread with no luck, but can anyone with an established RttS pitcher confirm whether or not certain pitches selected as your first three will lower your overall velocity of all pitches or has this bug been fixed?

I can never help but make multiple players.

I have a starting pitcher who plays for in the Giants' system in AA, a closing pitcher in the Nationals' system in AA, and a 3B who plays in the Padres system in AA. They've all been told that they're ready to move up, but there is no open spots.

I LOVE this game! I'd honestly like to have someone I could frequently chat with about the game and our progress, so if you're the kind of person that likes the game enough that you would like to have someone to talk about it with, send me a pm!

Was struggling to hit for power in the first month, hitting zero home runs, but in the past three weeks I have hit three homers, and a couple others have hit off the wall for doubles. Nice to see my training paying off.

Is anyone else struggling to get run supports as a SP? My ERA is 2.22 and i'm 2-3.

Also, does anyone know a good generic pitching style that has a quick wind up and release from the stretch?

That bug has been gone since last year. At least, I don't remember seeing it last year (but I remember it from 10')

Now in July 2012. Just been traded to the As and get Call Up in AAA.

In the Double I was Hitting for .255 with 82 Hits, 27 Runs, 13 Doubles, 2 Triples and 2 Home Runs who's ( In my opinion ) is not pretty bad.

Hope to play in the MLB in the Next Season !

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Currently cruising into June as the ace of the AA staff for the Nationals. The Nats aren't doing as hot, but our AA team is only 3 games back, and I'm on a 5 game win streak (whatever you think that means for a SP). I get really good run support from my team, but I'm also finally discovering the strikeout. Sitting tight with a 4-seamer, 12-6 curve, and circle change. Originally set out to be a control, Maddux-like pitcher, but now I think I'm starting to shift into power-pitcher mode...mostly because I'm relying more on stuff and velocity (which is surprisingly easy to add to...I've only done the My Player in 2k10 and it took forever to increase my fastball speed) rather than control (which is not so good). As soon as I have 400 points to spare, I think I'll add in a slider, or something with vertical movement. Any time I have 15-20 minutes, I try to get in a game. So much fun to be a pitcher in this game.

I didn't realize it, but I had a notice in early May that I'm ready to head to AAA, but they don't have a spot for me...so I guess we'll see if I get traded. Until then, I can live with striking out 8 a game in AA.

I keep on trying to create a position player too, but just don't like it as much, so I think I will stick with my starter...at least until the OSFM is finished.

I know it isn't generic, but Mariano Rivera's pitching style seems to have a decently fast windup and release.

I made the Braves as a 19 year old 1B phenom. I ride the pine and I can't really get into a rhythm coming off of the bench so I've been striking out a lot more which sucks but hey I'll get my chance eventually. Slider low and it is my enemy. I can't read the pitch for the life of me as it always looks good.

Edit - 5 AB's 4SO lol That's my 2013 line so far riding the pine behind Yonder Alonso lololol Completing goals is also damn near impossible when not playing at all.

Yeah, i really don't want to steal anyone's motion. Kinda want to nake my own motion famous.

I wish when selecting a pitching motion and swinging motion it let you see the wind up from the stretch, the swing for the batter, and the homerun celebration.

EDIT: I wish when editing your player, you would wear the gear of the current team you are on. That would make it a lot easier to color coordinate your glove, shoes, etc..

I'll second that. There's nothing worse then creating some cleats or batting gloves that you think will look awesome and then you get to actual gameplay and they look nasty.

In the alternate reality where I played baseball, I got drafted by the Dodgers and currently play for Chattanooga. In 10 games, I'm 10/31 with a .323 batting average, 1 HR, and I'm 1/1 on stolen bases, which probably won't happen ever again as I'm extremely slow. The game already thinks I shouldn't play first base, but there is no DH in my league. I might switch to catcher later, but I don't imagine that'd be any easier and you can't become a pitcher like some players do.
