Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I would think so. They have Iglesias too if they lose Bogaerts and I think they would want Haren for their pitching staff. Plus an A and B prospect? I think thats fair.. maybe even a bit of a steal for themComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Do you think the reds would deal Billy Hamilton?
Also i was looking to trade Karstens for possibly a c lefty reliever and a c outfielder who hits well against lefties. Think thats fair?Comment

That wouldn't be bad. They just have to dump pitching but that would be a good rotationComment

Yeah, I mean I haven't followed him too much in real life but I grabbed him in my franchise with the pirates. Not sure where he is probably going to get signed but since I just haven't followed him at all I just went ahead and signed him. Right now I have him in AAA playing CF. If you're curious he's batting .250 with 0 HR's and 5 RBIs to go along with 4 steals through 17 games.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm by no means an expert on realism, but I guess it really depends what you give them. Sounds like you're the Pirates and I completely understand that need for a future SS. I have my eyes on Lindor. I guess if you gave up a few B's or maybe an A and 2 B's it would be ok. I think they'd be more willing to give up Gregorius thoughComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
And as far as Karstens goes, I think it depends on the age of the guys you're getting back. If you're getting old guys have 1 or 2 years left in them I guess that would be ok, but anyone under 30 or so I dont think it would be fair.. considering Kartens is 29 himself. If you're looking for youth maybe a C and a D in return if he's playing well, and there's a team that needs him in a playoff push.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Just letting everyone know in generalwhen you say for example the Rangers don't have any room for this guy because they have another guy in the majors so he's available that this is completely wrong. If a guys 18 and a stud and you say well they just signed Cabrera to a deal (for example) so they don't have room for him so he's available is wrong. He could get injured or become terrible or so many other things before that prospect is even ready to play. Now sometimes they will trade a guy that's older (22 23) cause they really have no room for him, but most of the time they keep these big prospects and develop them. I just wanted to say this cause I hear guys saying this on every page and it's just not rightComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Mentioning Iglesias is pretty irrelevent IMHO. Sure Bogaerts is listed as a SS now but he will more than likely be a 3rd baseman/corner outfielder by the time he hits the majors. I wanna say he is 6'3", thats awfully tall for a SS. I think the average is probably somewhere closer to 5'11" - 6'.Last edited by CKW11; 05-27-2012, 07:21 PM.Comment

I'm pretty confident he will sign with the Cubs. I've heard there is a deal in place for Soler, the Cubs are just waiting until MLB officially declares him a free agent.Comment
