Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

So the CPU would agree to take Morse straight up for either one of Cespedes (OAK), Jones (BAL) or Young (ARI). For McCutchen, Pittsburgh would only agree if I'm taking Bedard's contract in the deal.

I don't think any of those deals are fair tough. Any idea what should be added to round these deals up ? I think Cespedes would be my first pick, but would be fine with any of them really.

Same question to you. Which teams are out of it. I need an idea so I can narrow it down.

Teams pretty much out of it are: Nats, mets, giants, pirates, Astros, twins, athletics, white sox, mariners and Indians

you're right...none of the trades are fair....the only team that Morse would make sense on out of those 3 is Arizona since the other two teams are supposed to be rebuilding

Alright, so scrap Baltimore, Oakland and Pittsburgh then...and thanks for your constant feedback by the way.

Lets focus on Arizona. I'm back to a package I mentioned a couple of pages back...would a package of Goldschmidt/Young or Hernandez/Young be plausible for Morse, x and y ? And, if so, who would you suggest as x and y ?

that's really hard to answer considering if i was Arizona, nobody on Washington's roster would be a fair return for Goldie and CY outside of the obvious guys....i would think Tyler Moore would have to be included as a replacement for Goldie....i'd probably have to ask for Rendon as well....and even that wouldn't be a fair trade

                Banana and jknott,

I'm just wrapping up work and want to look through rosters before quickly answering your questions (you both are looking or specific molds).

Unless someone else covers you in the meantime, I'll be back on tomorrow. Sorry, still working and trying to close up.

I dont care about realism, only care about the trade being fair. I'm the Twins and I'm currently 14-28 and I'm sick of pitching with starters who can't strike anyone out.. I need suggestions for a pitcher 28 and younger that has filthy strikeout stuff. I'm willing to give up anything other than Miguel Sano. Doesn't matter whos in contention in stuff for me, I just really need a power arm that can rack up some K's..

Alright, I think I'll stay put for now rather than trading for a CF I don't really like, or at least not as much as Morse. I'll put Morse on the trading block, and see what the CPU will offer me down the road, or re-evaluate based on players performances during the season.

Quick question; does sending a player in Class-A affect his development since they don't seem to be playing any games ? Should I automatically bump up any B-level prospect to at least Double-A, even if they are inferior right now to a C-level prospect ?

i cant definitively answer this cause idk the answer but to avoid it, i created a franchise file and placed all top prospects at least Double-A so i can see them get game action

Can't speak for everyone. I for one, would be more comfortable with Harper playing LF, with a speedy guy who can be a lead-of batter down the middle. Morse is kinda unidimensional. Pretty good bat, but lacks in speed and defense.

Nationals get: (1B) Mark Trumbo and (CF) Mike Trout. Plus, if judge necessary, the Nationals would take either one of Ryan Langerhans or Bobby Abreu salary, which the Angels are apparently trying to get rid of.

Angels get: (1B) Xavier Nady, (3B) Anthony Rendon and (LF) Mike Morse.

                            Reasoning
The Nationals gets their CF, and upgrade another one of their position of needs at 1B with Trumbo, who finally gets a chance to be an everyday starter. He's not a huge upgrade to Morse defensively, but a natural 1B rather than playing Morse at 1B. The moves also allow the Nationals to use LaRoche as a pinch hitter, or DH when playing the American league.

The Angels lose a very good prospect in Trout, but replace him with Morse who should provide more offense right now in their attempt to capture a championship. They also acquire another A-prospect in Rendon, who's playing 3B, which is probably the weakest spot in their line-up right now, judging by the players overall. The Angels have a decent prospect there in Cowart, but it seems Rendon is a lot better (ranked 3rd in mlb.com list at 3B, 25th overall). They lose Trumbo, but with Pujols and Morales playing at 1st base, I'm thinking they could easily do without him, even as a DH. They also get rid of an unwanted contract, replacing him by a cheaper player who can play 1B, or all three outfielders position, giving them even more flexibility.

                            ---

                            Two questions...
                            1) Does it seem fair ?
                            2) If so, I'd like to know if you see anyway to include Maicer Izturis to that deal, as I'm also in need of a utility player that can play all around the infield. Obvisouly, I would have to add something else, and do the trade in two different ones, but I force myself to make only one trade (one team in this case) before the season, and Izturis seemed like a good option for what I needed.
Why even ask if that is fair? You know that it's a crap trade

LA would never give up trumbo & Trout unless you send Harper or Strasburg back

Garza or Bud Norris? Ricky Nolasco? Good k-potential with them
