I want to trade for a right handed power bat to plug into left field or first base because I haven't been able to get anything going. This is where I turn to you guys.

I really want Andruw Jones. He is doing OK for New York and not playing very much. Would it be fair to take him away from the Yankees? They aren't really hurting at any position like they are in real-life except for maybe a Starting Pitcher because I knocked Pineda out for the year. I am also considering guys like Gomes in Oakland, Heisey in Cincinnati, and Josh Willingham in Minnesota.

Trade for Carlos Quentin of the Padres

Hey guys, I did a fantasy draft and I'm looking to upgrade my rotation. I purposedly drafted prospects within the first 20 rounds so that I could try and trade them for 2 quality starting pitchers that I was unable to draft. I have my eyes on both Johnny Cueto and Chad Billingsley. So I was wondering if you think that these two trades are fair, more so for the computer as I don't want to "rip him off". Any responses would be appreciated...

Mike Trout (CF), 20 YRS old, A Potential
Yonder Alonso (1B), 24 YRS old, A Potential
Kyle Drabek (SP), 24 YRS old, B Potential

      for

Johnny Cueto (SP), 26 YRS old, A Potential

      AND

Mike Moustakas (3B), 23 YRS old, A Potential
Anthony Rizzo (1B), 22 YRS old, A Potential
Brad Mills (SP), 26 YRS old, C Potential

      for

Chad Billingsley (SP), 27 YRS old, B Potential

I'd love to hear some thoughts before I do anything.

I play with the brewers and sitting now with at 46-25 with a 1 game lead in the NL Central. What can i do to make sure my post season takes me to the WS?
I try to play every game, so I wanna make sure I can get the best line up, before the trade deadline with realistic deals. Since i am playing 162 games, this might be the only season I have time for. Ryan Braun is hitting .352 20 hr 57 rbi. Only person i really care about is him. Zach Greknie pitches good and is 8.1 with a 2.06 era but personally dont really like him. Any tips and advice would be great. I don't know what to do really. I was thinking about trying for JJ Hardy for more power in the late lineup.

I have done a few trades and my lineup is.

          CF Brett Gardner
          2B Richie Weeks
          LF Ryan Braun
          3B Armanis Ramirez
          RF Cory Hart
          1B Carlos Lee
          SS Reed Brignac
          C John Lucory

          Bench
Norichika Aoki, Carlos Gomez, Alex Gonzalez, Ivan Rodriquez, Taylor Greene

          Pitchers

          Zach Grenkie
          Yovani Gallardo
          Shawn Marcum
          Randy Wolf
          Wily Peralta

          Bullpen
          Manny Parra
          Taylor Buchholz
          John Axford
          Chris Narverson
          Jose Veras
          Francisco Rodriguez
          Jerry Blevins

In AAA i got 3 A POT SP, and 3 B POT Hitters.

You've got a great team there! I wouldn't do too too much.

That said, care to share your struggling players so I can see specifically where you are weak?

Looking just at your lineup/bench, it seems like you could use some more punch or at the very least, I decent bat off the bench. Hardy may work but I'd like more details if I could.

Ok thanks. I'm still on the fence about even making the trades. My rotation is definitely a weak spot though so I am a little desperate lol.

@ chetballard.....i def wouldn't do much tweaking with the way ur going....too much power is not always a good thing for a team......i wuddnt even think about trading Greinke...if anything shore up the back end of ur rotation or bullpen if u feel that's where ur weak

no issues with either Cueto and Billingsley...just go to ur next tier of prospects instead of Trout and Rizzo

Hey if the trade logic is so messed up go for it that's what I say. I play every game in my franchise in the majors. I barely get through one season maybe two at most. I would like to win the series but hey might as well have fun tryin

Sure i lose a lot of games because my bottom line up has Carlos Lee at .240 and everyone below him is hitting at .200 or below. I know i got a good team so its hard to make choices if any. On MLB Show 10 I played a 162 game season and lost in 5 games in the WS. That season took months and I didnt win it all. It really sucked to lose the WS, its gotta be x1000 worse in real life. Its baseball and anything can happen, maybe my best team is already there. Thats why i love this game,,takes forever and means alot when you make the playoffs, just dont want to lose again.

If Lee is your only issue, read and re-read Nofatgirlz's post.

He is DEAD ON. Lee will get hot eventually.

My Indians have now acquired Carlos Lee from the Astros to play LF/1B and Manny Ramirez to play LF and moonlight at DH. I gave up some really young B prospects for Lee (SS Dorsyss Paulino and CF Luigi Rodriguez), while sending Dillon Howard plus Shelley Duncan for Ramirez as it's basically just a one year rental since he will most likely retire. I really like my line-up now and boy is it nice to see Ramirez back in Cleveland where it all started. Hopefully I can put another ring on his finger before his time is up in my universe.

How many crazy trades have we seen in baseball in the past 20 years. They've been nuts. Sure some don't make sense but some will in the future. Maybe Thome hits a game winning homerun and wins the world series and retires. You don't know he could be the missing piece same with santana. We just don't know

Yeap i will check out that post. Thanks for the tips and advice.Unless injuries happen before Jul 31st, it looks like my team is well built. Check out Brett Gardner if anyone wants a great young CF great speed, and decent hitter. I rank #1 in speed on the show, but need to learn to steal more bases, I know that can equal alot more wins. I might rank #1 on speed but thats mostly from Carlos Gomez and Gardner

Lee isnt bad and that .AVG is low mostly from having to bring it up from him sucking with the Astros.

So I am rebuilding the Astros in my franchise, and I wanted a player to build around. I decided on trading for Bryce Harper. He is the deal that got accepted.

                                Harper

                                for

Wandy Rodriguez, Carlos Lee, and Jonathan Singleton

Now I know in real life right now the Nationals would never trade Harper. That doesn't bother me. Singleton was my best prospect (#34 on baseball america's prospect list) and lee/wandy by best two players. Still I feel like I should send them another A prospect in some lopsided trade offer to maintain a competitive balance for what I took.. Thoughts?
