Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I just started a franchise with the Nationals (being from Montreal, this is probably the only team I can relate too). They are young, which I like, and I allow myself to do one trade before the season...only one. I'm mainly looking for a CF, but wouldn't mind upgrades at 1B and/or behind the plate as well if possible.

Want it to be realistic, so thought I would ask you guys for some possibilty.

I started the franchise carrying three 1B (LaRoche, Nady and Tracy), so one of them would probably have to go, espcially if I'm getting one in return. Ramos could be included if the trades allow me to find a bigger arm behind the plate. And I'm open (although, you could share your feeling as wether or not the Nats would do that) to trade one of Werth or Morse if it allows me to fill one/many of my needs with high caliber players.

Scenarios CPU would accept so far

    The Orioles would agree to send me (C) M.Wieters, (1B) C.Davis and (CF) A.Jones for (C) W.Ramos, (1B) X.Nady or C.Tracy, and (LF) M.Morse.

The Angels would accept to send me (1B) M.Trumbo and (CF) Mike Trout, which is a combo I really like, for pretty much anything as long as I accept to take (RF) B.Abreu in the deal. I don't want the rip the Angels off though, so what do you think a fair offer would be for these two ? Would the Angels actually trade them ?

Finally, the Diamondbacks would agree to send me (1B) P.Goldschmidt and (CF) C.Young for (LF) M.Morse, as long as I take (CF) W.Bloomquist in the deal as well...but I don't think it's any fair. What do you think a fair offer would be for these two ? Again, would the D-Backs trade any of the two ?

So I can a lot if I include Morse in the deal...and would be willing to do so if I can fill at least two of my three holes (C, 1B and CF). Any combos in mind or take on the preivous offers ?

    Thanks for sharing your opinions...

The Angels and Orioles trades are unrealistic, I dont see the O's trading Wieters of Jones, seeing as their their only offense, and also, the trade itself is very one sided. The Angels one, Mike Trout is worth much more than that, and they see Abreu as too much money for them, and want to dump him any way possible, so no to both. But the Diamondback one was alright, maybe throw in a C prospect.

I was thinking seriously about Shoppach but he's still a Red Sox, isn't he? I'm the Yankees and they only trail me by 3.5 games. Though a good idea, I'd like to keep things as realistic as possible.

They want me to fail; as do I with them. We nod when we pass eachother on the street, but make crude gestures and silently mouth curse words when we turn the around the corner.

Good idea, but I'm leaning towards Rosario/Doumit/Hernandez or maybe Soto.

        Am I missing anyone???

Yeah, I don't think it makes sense for the Orioles either. But I don't know as much about baseball as most of you guys do (pretty much lost interest when the Expos moved).

But I'm surprised by your take between the Angels and D-Backs. You mean even if I included Morse in the deal, it wouldn't be enough for the Angels to move Trout ? If so, he's a far better prospect that I thought.

It seemed to make more sense to me for the Angels, to trade Trumbo (now that Pujols playing 1st base) and switching Trout for Morse (probably then moving Wells or Hunter at CF) than for the D-Backs to trade Goldschmidt and Young without any decent option to replace them at their respective position. That would pretty much leave them with Overbay at 1st, and moving Parra at CF.

That's 5 decent choices. I think that's all I'll need. Definitely forgot those two.

*EDIT* Actually, that's 4. *Enter curse word* the Atlanta Braves.

Again, remember the Jurrjens fiasco? *Blank* them!

out of those choices, i'd go with Doumit as well....although the other 2 suggestions as well as my 2 suggestions arent bad either

just depends on whose out of contention really and if any of those guys are putting up decent numbers (for a backup standard)

Only Doumit is on a team out of contention, so I'll start there.

What do you think. 2 C's?

if Werth's contract in the game is anything like it is IRL, not many teams would be eager to deal for him.....and Morse is a defensive liability so u'd probably have to start searchin AL teams so he can DH.....im just curious...what rosters are u using? that wudd help me narrow down some teams
