Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
My Indians have now acquired Carlos Lee from the Astros to play LF/1B and Manny Ramirez to play LF and moonlight at DH. I gave up some really young B prospects for Lee (SS Dorsyss Paulino and CF Luigi Rodriguez), while sending Dillon Howard plus Shelley Duncan for Ramirez as it's basically just a one year rental since he will most likely retire. I really like my line-up now and boy is it nice to see Ramirez back in Cleveland where it all started. Hopefully I can put another ring on his finger before his time is up in my universe.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So I am rebuilding the Astros in my franchise, and I wanted a player to build around. I decided on trading for Bryce Harper. He is the deal that got accepted.
Harper
for
Wandy Rodriguez, Carlos Lee, and Jonathan Singleton
Now I know in real life right now the Nationals would never trade Harper. That doesn't bother me. Singleton was my best prospect (#34 on baseball america's prospect list) and lee/wandy by best two players. Still I feel like I should send them another A prospect in some lopsided trade offer to maintain a competitive balance for what I took.. Thoughts?Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
How many crazy trades have we seen in baseball in the past 20 years. They've been nuts. Sure some don't make sense but some will in the future. Maybe Thome hits a game winning homerun and wins the world series and retires. You don't know he could be the missing piece same with santana. We just don't knowComment

He is a 'B' rated prospect. I wouldn't trade him in real life at this point.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
He wasn't picked tiil the 2nd round because of the money he would cost, he was a steal, and has great stuff. Hold on to him, one day he could develop into a low AComment

I just hit June 1st. What's a realistic date to begin trading? Late June/early to mid July?Comment

Heroes, the time to start trading is when the time is right for you. If you feel you need the deal to be done, pull the trigger. Normally, I start looking deeper into trades around the 3rd week of June. But, if you need to get that bad-luck charm off your team and try to make a 2nd half push, sooner than 'normal' can't hurt.Brewers | Golden Eagles | Packers | Bucks | Badgers | Fulham FC

Oh, and I just got rid of the bad luck charm. And NO, it wasn't Pineda and his newly found hot symbol (I know, I know). It was Freddy Garcia. Him and his 10+ ERA just got DFA'd. If no one wants him, he'll be released shortly. Good riddance!
I'm thinking about a backup catcher, a backup infielder, a starting pitcher, and possibly a long man (if Betances doesn't cut it).
I'll post details soon about what the league looks like so I can get some suggestions. Boy...do I want Greinke! LOL! No chance with MIL still in the hunt though. Liriano is doable, but his ERA is over 5.00. And 'capital F' ATL for how they tried to hose me on Jurrjens!
I'll be back in a few days.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 05-15-2012, 01:05 PM.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Actually, I'll ask this one now.
Can I get some names for a catcher to strictly play back up to Russell Martin? And maybe what they will cost? Cervelli needs some more seasoning in AAA (he's just wasting away on the 25 man, and hitting like .100) and Romine isn't ready for the promotion.
June 1st and only PIT/MIN/LAA are way out of it. So essentially, 27 teams still have playoff hopes. I'm willing to swap MLB ready players if necessary.
Just names and cost for now. I'll break down specific team needs later if I need to.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 05-15-2012, 01:26 PM.Comment

You could probably get Jarrod Saltamalachia or Kelly Shoppach for a C prospect. Salty has some decent pop also, and Shoppach is a good defensive catcher."I'm just gonna go out there, and call the Yankees my daddy" - Pedro Martinez
