The Orioles couldn't trade Adam Jones for Miguel Sano heads up if they wanted too.

I'm playing a 30 team franchise with OSFM Spring Training edition, where I'm trying to keep things as realistic as possible. Now that the Nats have lost Jayson Werth for what looks like up to 12 weeks, I heard some rumors of them looking at Denard Span. I'm wondering what it would take to get him from the Twins, or what other outfielders should the Nats look at in real life?

In real life because the Twins do not need an outfielder... It was just an example. If they did need outfield help and were in the hunt, that'd be a perfectly balanced trade. Adam Jones is a sure thing 5 tool player who is an all-star. You never know what your going to get with prospects.

I think you are highly overrating Adam Jones he's only hit more than 20 hrs once, and never stolen more than 12 bases in a season. Miguel Sano will be the #1 propect in baseball going into next year, and at 18 years old is the premier power hitting prospect in the minor leagues. He's projected out to 30+ home runs, and a staple in the middle of the lineup for a very long time.

Just curious, what would it take for the Blue Jays to get Brandon Phillips?

Hechavarria/Marisnick/Norris, Wojciechowski/McGuire/Syndergaard, and Jacob Anderson. Although that's a little bit too little if you're not giving up Hech. Which I wouldn't. In 2014 he's already an A. Fielding is more or less maxed out haha.

How about Marisnick + Syndergaard + Anderson? Although a combination of what I put above could work, if that's your preference.

Yeah I don't think I'd want to give up Hechavarria since I don't produce all that well with Escobar and I think Kelly Johnson is in the last year of his contract.

I don't know just how good Marisnick is supposed to be but I think I'd be much more willing to give him up since I already have a ton of outfielders with Thames, Davis, Rasmus, Bautista, Gose, etc.

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Hey guys this is my first post, figured i'd start here.

I'm in my second year with the tigers after having the best record in the regular season and winning many awards (mvp,cy,relief and silver sluggers). But unfortunately being eliminated by the indians in the second round (they went on to win the world series) my season felt all for nothing.

So i decided to make some changes and wanted to know what you guys thought of the moves i made.

I decided while my team was a powerful one that could score at will (lead all teams in runs and homers pretty much all offensive stats) we had two major weaknesses those being team speed and defense, that being said i went into the offseason looking to fix that. Here are the positional players i either traded or let go in free agency and the players i acquired to fill there spots.

First off I let delmon young walk in free agency, he was a B FA his stat line for me was 149 hits 18 hrs 83 rbi .281 avg. He signed the SF

I then let ryan raburn walk. stat line was 127 hits 19 hrs 72 rbi 272 avg. Signed with ARI

I also let jhonny peralta go (was hard for me). stat line was 167 hits 17 hrs 86 rbi 308 avg. signed with CLE

I couldnt find anyone in free agency that fit my needs at least not any who wanted to sign with me, so i made these trades to get better defense and speed without breaking my farm system for big names and i wanted you opinion on the deals and how you think they fit my team and my plan.

First up i traded for tampa's ss Reid Brignac, He has solid fielding and decent speed and since he was pretty much expendable thanks to sean rodriguez i only gave up a young 2b named steven samuels who i drafted (his potential wasnt good, i think tampa was just looking to shed brignac)

Next I traded for 2b Orlando Hudson he was playing for the dodgers and i think they were wanting ivan de jesus jr to play cuz they didnt want much for him, so much so that i cant remember who i traded for him. he has good fielding skills and decent speed.

Last i traded for Coco Crisp to play LF he was playing for the brew crew, he was a little harder to get i had to part with ss eugenio suarez (B pot). Coco is very fast and has solid fielding skills.

Adding said players costed me very little in prospects and only 7 mil in cash between them and i think plugging them in my lineup will add much needed speed on the basepaths for guys like cabby, prince, v-mart, boesch and avila. I still feel i have a good line up with those hitters and i kno i shouldnt expect a ton from the players i acquired offensively but im hoping for solid defense and being able to go first to third on singles and stretching singles into doubles and doubles to triples (remember i play at comerica 81 times). I hope the O-dog and brignac make a good double play combo and help cabby and prince at the corners and i know coco and action jackson will track down most any fly balls not hit on a line. But then again i did let 443 hits 54 hrs and 241 rbis go and replaced it with 387 hits 27 hrs and 148 rbis.

Your thoughts (sorry about the length kinda wanted to let you kno how this came about).

Miguel Sano will not be the # 1 prospect going into next year, he strikes out a little too much, can't recognize off speed stuff that well and is kinda fat for 3rd base. He'll probably be bottom of the top 10 or just outside.
