Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
u wasnt being rude...i just don't think the Cubs have the right pieces to trade for Profar or Sano...the most fairest trade u made so far is Garza, Jackson, and Rizzo and even then, i think the Rangers would say noSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

BTW if you ask in he OS Arbitration Panel I'm pretty sure they'll tell u the same thing since the goal of the thread is to make realistic, real-life trades that the represented team would make.BIG BLUE ALL IN!!!

You know what I mean. With beltre, young, kinsler, and Andrus, the rangers don't have a place right now to put either one of them. It is always wonderful to have a player like either one of them, but it is just where do you put them? The rangers could always trade Andrus, which seems most likely in real life, but I don't see that happening.Comment

It's just not realistic to trade for an organization's top prospects (in Profar's and Sano's case ELITE) before the season begins.

You're fine. I just want to make realistic trades, because I could've gotten both for a lot less, so you know I'm trying also.Comment

Beltre has been in the Majors for 14 years, he's getting on up there in age, so is Young. So that opens up a spot for Olt. Andrus isn't going anywhere, Profar will probably slide to 2nd Base when he makes it to the show. At that point either Kinsler will no longer be there or moved to the outfield/DH. All of that is just a possible scenario, and a scenario that doesn't involve injuries.
I guess what I'm saying is there is PLENTY of room for Olt/Profar. If there was "no room" for them I'd bet the real Rangers would have traded them by now.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Olt is still about a year away from the Majors, Profar is probably about 2 years away. Even at that point they might not be ready to be Major League starters, they might need to be eased into a starting role for a couple months to a year.

Yeah man I'm pretty certain Andrus isnt going anywhere, he's a heck of a ball player. I'd be willing to bet, barring injury, one of them will be a 2ndbaseman for the Rangers. I don't really keep up with the Rangers but I could see them trading Kinsler or letting him walk (not sure the specifics about his contract).Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
They just resigned him to a monster deal. David Murphy probably won't be back, so they could move him out there. The only problem with that is his glove. He is really good at second, so it is hard to move a gold glove caliber defender away from his position, but they did it to young after he DID win the gold glove, so you never know. I guess having TOO much talent is never a bad thing huh?Comment

NEVER a bad thing. In one of the other threads a guy talks about drafting a guy with D potential and having him move up to B potential. So I guess the reverse could happen and Olt or Profar could end up being busts if you call them up before they're ready and struggle. You can also never account for injuries, I've heard people here get alot of young guys have career ending injuries."I'm just gonna go out there, and call the Yankees my daddy" - Pedro Martinez
