    3B - Placido Planco

The Marlins now must resign Hamels in the off-season to assure themselves of locking up a sure fire ace.

The Marlins had grown weary of the inconsistent Ramirez who had been struggling from the 3 hole, then moved to 2nd hole where he continued to be unspectacular and also he has been a huge dissapointment at 3B defensively. Couple that with a continued me first approach, Hanely had just worn out his welcome.

GM Armor & Sword was quoted "We wish Hanely well and hope he finds a fresh start with the Phillies". We welcome Cole and Placido with open arms and will work hard on getting Cole a well earned extension and become another ace in our staff along with Josh". We are thrilled to have a veteran like Placido come in and take the reigns for the remainder of the season at the hot corner and teach out young guys how the position is played like a pro (Matt Dominguez). We would welcome Placido to return for 2013 as well if he feels his body is up to it.

Placido is 36 and in the final year of his contract as well. It is expected the Marlins would look to resign him to a 2 year deal with a club option for year two.

The Marlins have just come off winning 7 of their last 10 games heading into the All-Star break and 6 games back of a wild card spot.
That's an interesting trade! Hanley hasn't really been the same guy the past few years, but he's still pretty highly regarded. I think that actually helps both teams pretty nicely. Even though the Phillies would probably look to trade Hamels for prospects, I can see them trading for a guy to help them RIGHT NOW knowing how stubborn that organization can be

So here's the issue. I started a halos franchise and a simmed until July 1st an played 5 games, everyone is lighting it up and smoking hot, we have 57 wins and are in second in the ALW behind the rangers. I'm probably going to play the rest of the season. Joe Mauer is on the trade block, cold, and hitting .266. I offered the twins my best 3 prospects. They would've accepted it but I didn't go through with it.. Is there any way that legitly this trade could happen?

Well, what is your weakness your hitting or pitching, if jeff mathis is doing worse than mauer than why would you do that trade. there are a lot of missing pieces that you didnt include.

This trade isn't realistic or fair

Disagree. Former all-star hitter in Ramirez who can easisly turn his career around as he is only 28 and proven. Has a friendly contract.

Hamels expiring contract, the Phillies payroll is through the roof and they were not going to sign him. Polanco, aging 3B on his last year or 2 max, another expiring contract.

Not a bad trade at all.

I'm just curious do you just guess on the potential?? I know everyone has there opinion for this. Seriously tho...do you do any research before posting I think it differs from team to team.

Based on what they have and what the receiving team is willing to bargain and take on themselves...to give such quick response ( which is impressive ) just curious to how you go about answering I'd give this _____ prospect for him.

Again not knocking you or anyone for that matter. Just wanted to know.

Also I saw someone had said that soriano had no trade value anymore. In the NL no, AL very much so.
