        Just to light this gasoline on fire;

        You guys, RBI and average are worthless, outdated statistics, ESPECIALLY RBI.

        Justino, who I think is the poster asking, can you post some of his metrics? OBP, SLG, RC, etc.

            I know, but it'll give us a better idea. I mean, if he's getting on base at a .300 clip, then I'd say he's worth three D's.

                  refer to my latest post...im not paying Jason Bay 16M to draw walks or get hit by pitches

                    .330 OBP and a .410 SLG are pretty decent IMO.

                      He plays on the Mets, you can't get RBIs on the Mets. This is why RBI is useless. Who's there to get on base in front of him?

                      If you're dead set on how he's driving guys in, BA W/ RISP is your best bet.

                        I dunno about that statement.. If there isn't ever people on in front of somebody they won't have RBI's. I mean he has 31 homers and 55 RBI's in August.. so there is definitely lack of people on base when hes at the plate. Perhaps his RISP is like .040 though. I just think you can't base it all off RBI's.

                          Murphy's ok...David Wright is solid...Ike Davis has his moments....their 2-3-4 hitters are more then capable of getting on-base...they arent the Houston Astros

                            OK, Solid, Has his moments doesn't count for crap. They have one legitimate hitter in front of him. That isn't going to get him RBIs. Gotta see that BAWRISP (there's gotta be a shorter abbreviation for that).

                              valid point....on paper, thats not a bad 2-3-4....in his franchise, they obviously stink...if his RISP is anything near decent, i'd make it 3 C's total if that makes the poster feel any better

                                On another note.. would you trade for a leadoff hitter who is hitting .300 with 25 steals in august but only 40 runs scored? Essentially the same idea.
