Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Year is 2015.
Marlins get:
1B Billy Butler .231, 24 RBI, 8 HR
2B Omar Infante .286, 9 RBI, 1 HR
RF Casper Wells .313, 12 RBI, 6 HR
Tigers get:
SS Jose Reyes .233, 10 RBI, 1 HR, 4 SB
RF Giancarlo Stanton .203, 31 RBI, 9 HR
Miami is upgrading significantly at 1B and 2B in this trade, and they have a quality back up at SS. They are also upgrading IMO at RF. Wells is a much better fielder and base runner while being slightly better in contact, and slightly worse in power.
Detroit is taking on a bad contract for Reyes (22m per year), and all 3 players going to Miami have multiple years left. This gives Detroit a power hitting DH and a serious upgrade at SS. Miami gains 3 new starters, 2 great hitters and a good contact/fielder.Comment
