Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

What do you guys think, is this a fair trade for B.J. Upton if I am the Nationals. I am offering Tyler Moore who is a 1B with B potential, Jeff Kobernus who is a 2B with B potential, and John Lannan for him. I think it's a fair trade for both parties though it might favor them a little bit, but I am not sure. So any advice would be great thanks.

I am the Jays and I am looking to get an offensive catcher to replace J.P Arencibia at the MLB level. Age is not really a factor since D'Arnaud is doing well in AAA and the Jays have a deep farm system in regards to catchers (OSFM ST roster).

I am looking for suggestions for who I could trade for at the current stage of my franchise (April 20th). I was looking at Victor Martinez but in the game he is the Tigers starting DH and they want too much for him, I was also looking at Kurt Suzuki but I am not sure what would be a fair trade for him.

          Suzuki's a decent choice..a B and C prospect is fair

Buddy of mine plays with the Mets and sent Andes Torres packing to LA for Jerry Hairston Jr and Jerry Sands. Thoughts? I feel like Torres for Sands would be enough even though I have my doubts the Dodgers would have any use for Torres. More like next year if Ethier decides to leave...

I have a trade on the table in my Mets franchise.

                Mets get:
                Asdrubal Cabrera

                Indians get:
                David Wright
                Matt Harvey
                Zack Wheeler

Wright is in the last yr of his contract, and odds are, I won't resign him. But I feel like I getting killed in this trade...thoughts?

yeah ur being taken to the woodshed with that deal....if ur Mets are out of playoff contention, u can for sure get a lot more for Wright (not that Cabrera's a bad player)....plus i would never package Harvey AND Wheeler in the same deal

thanks man. I'm really trying to upgrade the SS position, while making a big trade to put fans in the seats. Any suggestions?

To be fair, Cabrera's not the type of player to put fannies in the seats....Unless u want Reyes back or Tulo, gamebreaking SS's are hard to find (and realistically wouldn't be traded)...Starlin Castro, Elvis Andrus are in that next level of star SS's but they wouldnt be realistically traded either.....if ur lookin to grab a SS from a supposed bad team, there's Hardy (although he signed an extension) from the O's, Ramirez from the White Sox, Lowrie from the Astros (although he just signed this year)

^ Thanks again, I appreciate the help. I don't want to fleece the CPU for a superstar SS(even though it's possible). Here's what I have in the works now.

                        Mets get:
                        Asdrubal Cabrera
                        Ryan Spilborghs

                        Indians get:
                        Danny Murphy
                        Frank Fransisco
                        Ruben Tejada

Now the problem with this trade that I see is the LARGE amount of salary I would have to take on....

that's not a fair trade for Cleveland...With Kipnis at 2nd, they'd have no use for Murphy (unless u play him exclusively at 1st or DH)....Cleveland has a closer already so Francisco would be a bang or bust set-up guy at best? and Tejada needs to establish himself more consistently before Cleveland would take him for their best player....if im Cleveland, im asking for Familia, Wilmer Flores, and Brandon Nimmo
and yeah Cabrera's contract is jacked up in the rosters

I agree with you. I decided to go another direction.

                            Mets get:
                            Yunel Escobar

                            Jays get:
                            Chris Young
                            "C" prospect

I think Escobar will be a great addition...hopefully

Toronto got fleeced in this deal...Young has the inability to stay healthy and when he is, he's a back-end-of-the rotation at best

I understand your POV, but for some reason, the BlueJays have no interest in keeping him...I'm not really sure.
