Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Not really trade talk but.
Have you guys ever signed or traded for someone that is poorly rated and then had them just put up unreal numbers? Has happen a couple of times for me in the past but like second week in the season my third basemen was playing like crap. I didnt want to call up Sano even though he is my best 3rd basemen in my system. So I traded for Erick Almonte have always liked him used to be on the yankees was a high prospect but after that he has been floating around used to play SS and 3rd now plays 1st. Has like below avg contact and same with power.
As of right now this is his stat line batting last and playing third for me.
Eric Almonte: AVG: .810 , AB: 21 , H: 17 , HR: 1 , RBI: 7 , 2B's: 4 , Triples: 1 , Fielding%: .955
I have no idea what it is his batting stance or the fact he isnt a good hitter so they give me strikes but I will hit decent liners all day with him. I'm not moving him from the last spot or editing his position in fear of jinxing this lolMadden 20 Underrated Player Guide - 1st post has current updated players.

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So this is the trade I ended up doing:
Tigers get:
2B Johnny Giavotella - 25 year old with B potential
SP Jake Buchanan - 23 year old with C potential
My Astros get:
RP Al Alburquerque - 26 year old with B potential
This gives me Rhiner Cruz, Wilton Lopez, and now Al Alburquerque as solid guys I can bring in from the bullpen.
I still need to find a decent left-handed RP though.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Have your tried hideki okajima? I play on pretty hard sliders and he has pitched fantastic for me I signed him very cheap to. If you want to try and trade for a soild young lefty rp Rex Brothers straight up throws smoke. But I would really look and okajma I have been very happy with himMadden 20 Underrated Player Guide - 1st post has current updated players.

I'll definitely be looking into Rex Brothers though.
I'll be looking into Elbert as well.
Thanks fellas.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
To the question about free agent house rules:
1) I sent Soler to the Cubs since that is where I believe he will end up.
2) Since I'm using 30 team control I will be bidding on FAs (in the offseason that is) based on each team's needs / available cash. I don't want CPUs stacking up on players they dont need, nor will I be doing it either.
3) NEVER, and i mean NEVER sign a free agent just to use him as trade bait (people used to do this in my Madden leagues and it would drive me crazy).Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
John Lester is on the trading block in my franchise and it looks like they will accept a straight up deal for friggin' Chris Davis. I am so tempted to do this, but it feels really unfair.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Trade Gerald Laird C, minor league prospect (C potential) for Brett Gardner LF.
I managed to trade Brandon Inge 3B to the Blue Jays for Jeff Mathis C.
There were other lesser knowns in the trades but can't remember who they involved.
These trades solved my depth at Catcher situation, and gave me a legitimate lead off hitter. I was able to move Austin Jackson to the 2 hole and sometimes down in the 7th or 8th spot depending on the lineup I am trotting out.
Best part is that I didn't deplete my minor leagues.Fan of... Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, and Detroit Pistons
