Interesting that you guys mention this as I was thinking of his name just the other day while speculating in deadline targets for my franchise

I think it would be a helluva move for Houston. They get a much needed bat and probably sent Lee on his out. I was thinking moving Martinez to right and Bay to left. I always liked Bay in his Pittsburgh days. If I could pull this off I then don't need to shop in the offseason. He would definitely be the cleanup hitter.

Yeah he'd leave the Astros in a good place if we're talking power. Guess he could be had relatively cheap and the bonus for acquiring him at the deadline would be that you only pay for half of his salary. Sure, 8 million or something like that for a rental is a lot but he could be the difference maker in your playoff hunt

Or you could bring back Jason Lane. He has some power in his bat. I more looking for a 2nd string catcher. I think giving a catcher rest is very important and use his bat in tight situations.

Isn't Jason Lane a pitcher for the Reno Aces these days?

Any specific catcher you had in mind for the backup job behind the dish?

Naw Jason Lane is a outfielder. Miguel Olivo is my candidate right now.

I know what guy you're referring to but there's a pitcher, converted outfielder, pitching for the Reno Aces. He got both the win and delivered the game winning hit about 1-2 weeks ago. Read about it on twitter from Barry Enright if I'm not mistaken

Forgot to mention Travis Buck bat is very useful in late game pinch hitter. Houston has pieces there it's about putting it together what you already have. Buck can give rest to Martinez or Bogusevic. Without Martinez out of the lineup I would drop Buck down batting 7th. This gives him RBI opportunities.

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

These trades happened in my franchise, I wasn't involved in any of them

NYY gets: CF Gary Brown (A), 1B Angel Villalona (B), and SS Joe Panik (B)
                    SF gets: RP Rafeal Soriano

                    BAL gets: SP Gavin Floyd
CWS gets: C Ronny Paulino, RP Luis Avala, SS Jonathan Schoop (A)

                    NYM gets: Jake Arrieta
BAL gets: 3B Wilmer Flores (C)

The SF-NYY deal is pretty odd, considering SF is in last place and they give three top prospects in an already weak farm system for a 32 year old reliever

Baltimore acquiring a pitcher to bolster their rotation (despite being in last place) then turning around 9 days later and dealing a pitcher is odd as well, especially a 25 year old with B potential for a C potential 3B

The White Sox acquiring Paulino (30 years old) and Avala (34) for a good starter with only 5 years of MLB service doesn't make much sense either with the Sox in last place. Getting 20 year old Schoop was a good acquisition though, with Alexei being 30 years old.

I'd say the winner of the NYY-SF trade was definitely the Yankees, no doubt. An A and two Bs for a reliever is great. CWS-BAL was the closest trade I think, but I'd say Chicago won for getting Schoop. The Mets won the NYM-BAL deal, getting an already pretty good 25 year old SP with B potential for a C potential 3B

Nofatgirlz, I just passed the 50 game mark and Manny is coming back so I want to move Gomes. He has the worst numbers of my outfielders and I want to keep the two lefty bats in Smith and Reddick. What do you think I could get for him? Or should I just release him?

So this trade just went done in my chise... Rly makes me wish I would have controlled all 30 teams. What do you guys think of this

                        Ryan Braun
                        Some pitcher forgot his name

                        for

                        Madison Bumgarner
                        Brandon Belt

I mean it Brewers got two really young A pot players but I just didnt think the CPU would pop a trade off like this.... rly makes me wanna start a 30 team control chise but will wait to see what u guys think

I have a franchise going with the Cardinals and decided to see what kind of players I could add to make the team even better. For some reason, the Dodgers accepted this deal...

Dodgers get: Matt Holliday, Matt Carpenter, Bryan Anderson
                          Cards get: Matt Kemp

I don't understand it at all but I was just messing around and it worked.

I believe signing Lastings Millage isn't a bad option to compete for the right fielder position. So basically that leaves good pinch hitters players on the bench to call upon late situations. Also Millage has speed. If this move goes down Bogusevic is the odd man out. I would keep him in the minors just incase. Travis Buck has shown a little power in the past. I would say Houston would be probably the only team that would give him a 2nd chance.

with 30 team control does the cpu do everything? waivers, DL etc... I have stayed away from this because I simmed 2 seasons and there were really no wacky trades or teams building all star lineup as some have posted. If I could play and have the cpu handle everything for the other teams and all I had to do was veto or accept trades I think I'll have a go at it.
