Rangers send Jurrickson Profar
Astros send Brett Myers and Carlos Lee


My thoughts on the deal. It is currently the end of June and the rangers are leading the division (by 3.5 games). Their closer (nathan) is on the 15 DL for 1-2 months. Lee is an improvement over their 1st baseman (and Moreland could also play LF over Murphy) at least for now. They don't really have a need for Jurrickson as they have andrus. I started looking over their roster after they offered me a deal for myers.

Now I figure people will say no to this and I should add something (and I think I probably should too). How much more should I throw in though? You think it would take an A prospect? B? Another MLB ready player?

okay .. like I said I felt more needed to be added such as an A prospect in return. Or would trading a young A prospect and two usable players for the franchise in its current state (due to injury and such) for another young A prospect not be enough

Take both these guys out and add 2 As and a B he's a top 5-8 prospect in baseball

Nick Castellanos (A potential 3B prospect #45 on BBA's list) 20 years old
Al Alburquerque (C rated, B potential 25 year old RP)


Tigers are in second place in AL central.. early July. They have 2 SP'ers on the DL. I think this is pretty fair seeing as the propects are similarly ranked, and they need wandy and I need a RP with any kind of future lol.

If it isn't fair I could also throw in Myers (they don't even have somebody who I would qualify as an MLB closer..

Okay I am running as the Rays in my franchise and am looking for some advice. I am looking to deal James Shields and/or Jeff Niemann (probably both) to upgrade my middle infield and catcher positions. For catcher it can be a prospect or an established player. For middle infield I am looking for a major leaguer. Does anybody have any suggestions? I only want to make a trade that would really happen, so full realism please.

I really want Freddy Galvis from the Phillies. Used him in an exhibition game, and I raked with him. I'm using the OSFM rosters, but my Galvis is an A potential, same overall though. Playing as the Red Sox, what's it gonna take? I want to rid myself of Youk, but is that too little?

I really want Freddy Galvis from the Phillies. Used him in an exhibition game, and I raked with him. I'm using the OSFM rosters, but my Galvis is an A potential, same overall though. Playing as the Red Sox, what's it gonna take? I want to rid myself of Youk, but is that too little?

I ended up doing the trade with a small tweak. I wouldn't consider Castellanos untouchable as he is behind a great player who is going to be around for a while. I think Springer is a great trade piece for them and far more useful to that particular organization. Wandy helped them out (they took their division if i recall). They got a better closer (Myers got 42 saves at years end with a 3.67era). I also threw a second trade their way netting them a young B prospect SP (can't recall the name) for an F prospect.

So overall

Wandy
Springer ("A" potential.. #59 on the top 100)
Myers
and a B prospect SP

for

Castellanos (#45 on the top 100 prospect list)
Alburquerque
and that crap guy from AA

I think that is enough to make up the difference of 14 spots on the prospect list. I did this deal because I signed that Cuban CF that was a free agent and had schafer. The Cuban guy (Jorge something) retired at the end of the season ugh..

Playing as the M's my record is 54-32 1 game before the all star break, and League started off really hot, already has 25 saves, but blew about 7 and has an ERA of 7.36. I desperately need a new closer or bullpen help, and ideas?
