Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I am running a Angels franchise. I have it as 30 team control. Was wanting to get some feed back on some trade ideas. I'm wanting in return a starting catcher, a RF prospect 18-20 range.

    I am wanting to give up the following guys;

    SP - Dan Haren -

    W - 2 / L - 2 ERA - 3.21 WHIP - 1.28

    C - Chris Iannetta -

    Avg - .179 HR - 4 SLG% .429 OBP% .170 OPS%. 607

    C - Bobby Wilson -

    Avg - .138 SLG%. 241 OBP% .167 OPS% .408

As you can see my catchers are lacking. Will probably send Wilson down and bring Conger. up. But, he isn't deserving of a promotion. My SP is solid in AAA. I have a created Adenheart sitting ready as well as a couple other guys. To sweeten the deal I would be willing to add a SS with a B potential by the name of Jean Argues. He is also rated pretty high in r/l. Also have a few A potential SP if needed.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Just want get some opinions so I can walk away not feeling like I screwed the other team and kept it honest.

    NCAA - USC

I'm only a month in. The teams the furthest out are Minnesota and Pittsburgh both at 8 a peice. Not really looking to dump Haren till maybe the deadline. But the catchers are driving me nuts. I have Hunter battling to stay around the Mendoza line as well.

With my trades, I was planning to let Hunter walk, move Wells to right next year, start Trout in left with Bourjos in CF.Just am hoping to get a RF prospect who might be ready for when Wells is gone. Then a young catcher that can possibly start right away.

this wouldn't be realistic but how about Wilin Rosario from the Rockies?

I'm trying to get as realistic as possible if I can. Looking through the original OSFM rosters I downloaded. The C position has some prospects, but not so many young ML ready guys. As for the RF prospect I see a few out there. I think what I'm really asking is, considering the potential of Ianetta, Haren, Wilson, a B potential SS at 22 yrs old, and possibly a few A potential SP's in AAA, what kind of starting catcher and RF prospect can i get?

Lavarnway from the Red Sox is an option.....not sure on the availability of Brentz but there's one team that fits both of ur criteria...they wouldnt want Iannetta or Wilson tho

David Carpenter from the Astros. Good heat on the fastball and nice break on the slider

Taylor Teagarden who's the backup in Baltimore? Got some pop and deserves a shot at a starting gig. Off the too of my head, I can't think of an OF'er in the O's system that fits the bill and can be out into the same deal.

I doubt the O's would want Iannetta in return since they have Wieters but a
B prospect straight up for Teagarden usually does it. Teagarden is from Texas and played for the Longhorns. Playing as the Angels he could be your Texas killer during the season

I think the length of the extension was more for until Michael Young is no long producing than until Profar is ready. I think the Rangers want to keep both long term, mostly depends on how Profar's power develops.

Yeah.....he would have to put together a very solid package to get Lavarnway & Brentz - they both hit 30 HR in the minors last year.

He could probably send Haren to Boston for them

I have a question... I'm only in year 2 of my Red Sox Franchise... so i haven't run into this problem yet but what happens when SS Bogaerts (prized A prospect) is finally ready.

Now I have Middlebrooks at 3B - Iglesias at SS - Pedy at 2B - Gonzo at 1B with no where to fit Bogaerts?

I post here because if I have to trade what's the value for:
                        Bogaerts or Iglesias?
Or I trade Pedy (getting older) move Bogaerts to 2B (power second basemen)
                        Whats Pedy's value?
Trying to bring back the winning ways of the Boston Red Sox.

It should be a long tired road considering the fans/media I have to deal with.

First, Lavarnaway cant catch, like its as bad as Montero, he has great power, but doesn't have a position. So that doesn't fit your catcher need.

Second, Bogarts is suppose to be alot better than Iglesias. Iglesias has no bat, he can't hit for power at all, and isn't even a very good contact hitter. So I'd look to trade Iglesias for a B and a C

Really, come on seriously the dude is not a big league starter. He's 29, has played 118 games in his career and has batted .220 with and under .300 OBP. Come on guys lets try to give decent advice.

This is where one could put in a rant about your reply but I won't. Call it personal flavor but Teagarden has been solid for me as a starter in Houston so far and that's what I shared when a fellow gamer asked. Him acting as a Texas killer is an extra twist that I personally enjoy.

I'm just saying man, theres a reason hes a backup. He wouldn't be an everyday starter on any team.I'm just trying to help this person actually get s big league catcher. And there's no reason to rant about my response anyways.....
