Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
There's at least some sort of logic that realizes it's not a good idea to pay lots of money to a poor player or someone buried on the depth chart. A lot of times you can get the CPU to accept a trade by taking on one of their bad contracts (Abreu on the Angels for example). I'm not sure exactly how the AI weighs such things, but salary does seem to play a part in trades.Comment

I think there might be. The Phillies put Chase Utley on the trade block a couple months into my Giants franchise and I traded Ryan Theriot straight up for Utley, saved the Phillies a lot of money.Comment

it'd be easier to acquire Howard if u had a 1B to replace him with as the Phillies wouldn't want Moreland...it'd take 2-3 major league players + solid prospects...as far as Linecum, the only bad contract i can think of on the Giants is ZitoSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Garza being my ace...also looking to move soriano and Byrd. I want a play now big league OF and a prospect in return..I love Brett Jackson and what the future holds for him in center.

No one seems to want Ryan Howard. It's 2013, he's 33 and still in top shape. However he scares off everyone but the Yankees. :/Mariners - Cubs: 2012 World Series

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guys, first post to the site and new to the game (had xbox before)
I'm a bo sox fan but started a franchise with the royals cuz I thought it would be more fun than having a super talented team already. I love the royals prospects so with that being said here is some of the moves I made in spring training after loading Knights rosters.
I try to be somewhat fair in my trades, but don't try follow whether a team would actually do it in real life, its a video game after all imo. I don't remember exactly who I traded for everyone but will try my best to remember so you guys can have something to go from for your own teams.
My goal is to build a team with a bunch of young studs. Please give your thoughts or advice.
I got matt moore, desmond jennings, bj upton from the Rays for Broxton and Franceour and a B prospect (don't need broxton with soria, and personally don't like Jeff) Obviously this would never happen, 2 studs for not much)
Traded for Beachy for one of my younger pitching prospects (A rating) I refuse to give up Duffy or Montgomery
Stole a couple of the red sox prospects for some of the royals prospects (one's I havent heard of) Got Ranaudo, Swihart, and Iglesias
Got danny espinosa for a D rated pitching prospect (ridiculous yes, but they also turned down an A rated hitting prospect and a variety of other deals so who knows that they were thinking)
got mike trout for ranuado
got Mike stanton for trout, Escobar, and bj upton.
got jed lowrie for a c rated prospect
got JP arencibia, a b rated pitching prospect for the royals backup catcher and bruce chen
signed Magglio Ordonez as a 4th OF for some depth. Signed Francisco Cordero to bolster the bullpen.
Excited to get the season underway!
MLB the show.....so real it's unrealComment
