That's the thing, I'm 7-4 and I really don't want to loose this team. Just answer me this: will I make it through th re-signing period with money to spare? Thats all I need to know.

Because after this season I would have to re-sign maybe 1/4 of the players I need to re-sign this season.

One last question: do the madden contract rules still take place in this? The sign young guys to long term deals to save money rule?

Well. Thanks for everything you've told me tonight. I'll keep on experimenting all while playing games. I'll probably post something every the show week to highlight my teams performance on the franchise thread. Thanks and Im sorry if I asked too many stupid questions. It's my first MLB the show game as I have been a MLB 2k guy for a while (and I'm NOT switching back). I'll keep you posted here and on the other thread whenever something happens. Thanks for the info and I'll see ya.....tommorrow night!

So after thinking bout that Upton trade i was not that in love would these trade make sense for teams in real life.

                      Tigers get

                      Michael Choice, Dallas Braden

                      A's get

Nick Castellanos, Andy Oliver(Nick will be blocked forever, and Young,Jackson and Boesch are on their walk year)

                      Orioles get

                      A.J Cole, Michael Taylor.

                      A's get

Jonathan Schoop, Wilson Betemit, Robert Andino

Also now i'm looking into a 1B could any of these be had for the below players

Brandon Belt, Billy Butler, Mark Trumbo.

Manny Ramirez, Grant Balfour, Brian Fuentes, Bartolo Colon, Kurt Suzuki, Cliff Pennington, Coco Crisp, Daric Barton, Jonny Gomes, Grant Green

As for your search for a 1st baseman. Realistically no combo of those players would get any of those guys you are after. Each one is young and trending upwards.

What do you guys think about this trade?

                            A's get: SP Jair Jurrjens
Braves get: SP A.J. Cole (A), CF Grant Green (B), SP Pedro Figueroa (C)

I know Jurrjens is coming off an All-Star season, but he is still only 3rd in the Braves rotation. In four starts after the All-Star break he was 0-1 with an ERA over 6. Trading Jurrjens opens a spot in their rotation for Mike Minor or Randall Delgado. In return for Jurrjens they get a top pitching prospect in Cole, who could be in the top end of their rotation in the future, and another top prospect in Grant Green. Green was drafted in the first round of the 2010 draft as a SS and could be a future replacement for Chipper Jones at 3B

What about Hanley Ramirez and Logan Morrison for Mike Ott and Jose Bautista... is that a decent trade for the Marlins?

So after reading through the whole thread, which players are your favorite fill-ins? 4th OF'er, utility infielder, great pinch hit bat etc?

I've noticed Ryan Sweeney, Wilson Betemit and Francisco Cervelli come up a few times. Any other good targets?
