    hey guys listen to this:
Mets Get- Daniel Bard + an a rated ss prospect
Red Sox Get- Manny Acosta + Jeff Stevens
come on AI, this is horrible.(for them)

    any ideas?!

im also thinking about trading that a ss prospect to the orioles with batista and someone else to get arrieta so i can have a rotation of: santana, niese, bard ,arrieta and dickey.

I'd call Bard fairly untouchable IRL but if he were to get moved I'd say you'd have to swap him in a 1-for-1 deal for an A-prospect like Wheeler

As for Arrieta, I'm thinking two B prospects could get the deal done maybe? Last thing they need is another old, tired arm like Batista. Maybe a guy like Ruben Tejeda who'd they could play at SS/2B depending on if/when Brian Roberts comes back or JJ Hardy needs a day off. Robert Andino fills that role now and isn't spectacular in any way. They've got Manny Machado coming up in maybe 2 years but he could fit in nicely until then if you ask me. So Tejeda and a pitching prospect for Arrieta?

No, no, no. The bard trade works, I tried it out. As for arrieta, ill probably give them the a potential ss I can get with a pitching prospect

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Nice thread! I've loved reading about all the trades everyone has been making. I just started a Washington Nationals franchise and wanted to see how I could improve the team before I started Spring Training. In all honesty, the majority of the MLB-roster with any trade value was off-limits, except one: Drew Storen. While I know he's outstanding, the Nats have a bunch of good-to-great relief pitchers who could fill in (in this case, I've moved Clippard to the closer role).

After playing around with a few different options, I settled on the following deal:

          Washington Nationals trade:
          CP Drew Storen
          SP John Lannan
          [a B-potential SP, I can't remember which one]

          to the Baltimore Orioles for:
          CF Adam Jones
          SP Jake Arrieta
[a C/D-potential RP, can't remember who, will fight for last bullpen spot]

I'm pretty sure that Storen is now the highest rated player on their team (young and cost controlled too), and Lannan slots in to the middle of their rotation. Jones is a great addition to Morse and Werth in the outfield, and if Harper pushes his way into the starting line-up quickly, I could shift Morse to 1B - I'm not expecting much from LaRoche.

Braves get: SP A.J. Cole (A), CF Grant Green (B), SP Pedro Figueroa (C)

I know Jurrjens is coming off an All-Star season, but he is still only 3rd in the Braves rotation. In four starts after the All-Star break he was 0-1 with an ERA over 6. Trading Jurrjens opens a spot in their rotation for Mike Minor or Randall Delgado. In return for Jurrjens they get a top pitching prospect in Cole, who could be in the top end of their rotation in the future, and another top prospect in Grant Green. Green was drafted in the first round of the 2010 draft as a SS and could be a future replacement for Chipper Jones at 3B

Oh ok I thought you we're asking about the deal and whether or not it was something that could play out IRL. Some people have asked about trying to make the most realistic trades as possible so that was how I responded.

i wouldn't trade a D prospect in A-ball for Acosta so that's all u need to know about this trade lol
