It's not straight up. I don't remember the exact deal but it was Soriano and Demoster for either SS and someone else.
Kris Bryant doesn't hit homeruns, he destroys pitcher's dreams. #Bryantwatch

Soriano's ridiculous deal and Dempster as a rental for either of those two is horrible. Soriano has NO value in game, without that second wild card.

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Hi guys. I'm new to the game(just got it yesterday for my birthday) and going to start up a franchise with my rays. I want to trade away some bigger contracts like BJ Upton, James Shields and Carlos Pena, because with the free agents they have after this year, I won't be able to sign them(ESP with rays being small market team). I know the reds could be an option for Shields, as they were talking about doing a deal like the Latos one for him, but the Reds went for Latos instead. I have heard they are still interested, and would like to know what they would give up(I would like Messaroco because we have no catcher, but they have made it clear he is their catcher, but I do LOVE Hamilton! )

Also if Hamilton isn't included in a reds deal, I would like to trade for Elvis Andrus and Julio Borbon. My dad lives near Dallas, so Im used to watching the rangers when I'm there. I love watching them play, and since they have Profar, Andrus could be moved.

Thanks for all the help! I can't wait to start my franchise!

Forgot to mention, going off of real life stats, so braves could be good option as they have njuries. So could blue jays.

Also as I think Messoraco is untouchable, what would Austin Hedges cost? As they have Grandal and Hundley he could be odd man out, and as the Rays, we have no catchers. Let me repeat NO CATCHERS!

Shields could get you back 3 high B's or maybe an A and a B. Upton could get you 2 B's and Pena a low B and a C

Im in a pennant race with the cubs, currently 3.0 games ahead of the Brewers in the Central. (Call me crazy, but i play every game)

Anyway, in the 2 weeks prior to the deadline, i was offered Mike Adams and Derek Holland from Tex for Carlos Marmol and a C level prospect.

I turned Adams, Rodrigo Lopez and Dave Sappalt into JJ Putz and Gerardo Parra from the D-Backs.

Then was offered Mark DeRosa and Jordan Zimmermann from the Nationals for Holland and Blake Dewitt.

Then on July 28th or so, the Mets traded David Wright to LAA, who promptly waived him. Darwin Barney went on the 60 day DL with a knee problem, i wasnt a fan of platooning DeRosa and Jeff Baker, so i put in a request on Wright, and ended up getting him. He is only hitting .200 with 3 HR and 14 RBI on the year, but hey, he has great ability to add to my team in the last months of the season.

I dont think anything was really that unrealistic, although i do feel like i kind of jobbed Arizona when i got Putz

I agree on Upton and Shields but I don't think Pena is worth a B. I'd lean toward 2 C's

A day before the All-Star break and the Miami Marlins made a big trade.

The Marlins sent 3B Hanely Ramirez to the Phillies

                              For

                              P - Cole Hamels
                              3B - Placido Planco

The Marlins now must resign Hamels in the off-season to assure themselves of locking up a sure fire ace.

The Marlins had grown weary of the inconsistent Ramirez who had been struggling from the 3 hole, then moved to 2nd hole where he continued to be unspectacular and also he has been a huge dissapointment at 3B defensively. Couple that with a continued me first approach, Hanely had just worn out his welcome.

GM Armor & Sword was quoted "We wish Hanely well and hope he finds a fresh start with the Phillies". We welcome Cole and Placido with open arms and will work hard on getting Cole a well earned extension and become another ace in our staff along with Josh". We are thrilled to have a veteran like Placido come in and take the reigns for the remainder of the season at the hot corner and teach out young guys how the position is played like a pro (Matt Dominguez). We would welcome Placido to return for 2013 as well if he feels his body is up to it.

Placido is 36 and in the final year of his contract as well. It is expected the Marlins would look to resign him to a 2 year deal with a club option for year two.

The Marlins have just come off winning 7 of their last 10 games heading into the All-Star break and 6 games back of a wild card spot.
