Re: Something Has Definitely Changed with The Show This Year
If my hitting was the only problem I'd agree, but the CPU can't hit either.Comment

Re: Something Has Definitely Changed with The Show This Year
This is the least fun I've ever had with a Show game. I find it amazingly inconsistent and am considering going back to MVP or maybe last years Show so I can actually have fun playing baseball again.
I shouldn't have to develop my own sliders set to play the game. It is flat out flawed if that is the case.Comment

Re: Something Has Definitely Changed with The Show This Year
Hey man try these sliders out and see what you get, I played with them for a while and had a pretty good time. Couldn't hurt you to try.
The thing that will probably help your hitting most though is to use Geronimos offset camera, its on a thread somewhere around here.

You and the Cpu will both score but every run won't come from homers, theres a nice mix of singles, extra bases, and homers.
Sounds like this set could be right on your level but give em a try and see.

Re: Something Has Definitely Changed with The Show This Year
Yeah, something is a bit off with the hitting compared to past years. I think it's the timing, it just seems so hard to properly pull an inside pitch (your timing has to be so perfect, there's no margin for error whatsoever). I used to be able to hit a grounder to the right side to move a runner to 3rd from 2nd but it seems like I fail every time now, again the timing doesn't seem quite right. Also, I think the speed of offspeed pitches is a bit too slow, I wish there was an offspeed pitch speed slider like High Heat. The CPU can't hit well either, I play on Legend and I've had to up the CPU's contact to 7 to get them to hit. With that said, I'm still loving this year's game, I have faith that I'll get my hitting grove all the way back, the last 3 games I've felt really good at the plate.Comment

As far as hitting to certain spots and moving runners if you hold R2 before the pitch and press the left stick in the direction you want to hit the ball(up,down, left, right) and obviously if you hit it at the right time you can still move the runners over consistently.

Re: Something Has Definitely Changed with The Show This Year
I'm using a custom cam based of the wide camera. The first catcher cam is the only preset camera I even sorta like. All the other cameras are tilted too high and I can't make out low pitches at all. I miss all the presets from last year, I don't understand why they took them out; there was like 9 catcher cams, 5 wide cams, and 5 offset cams.Comment

Re: Something Has Definitely Changed with The Show This Year
I'd say give it more time. My first 10 or so games with MLB 12 I was seeing the same thing; very low-scoring games.
In my last 10, runs for myself and the CPU have gone up. I'm playing Spring Training games this year and that's really helped me at the plate in regards to pitch recognition and timing. I can't really explain how the CPU has scored more runs, other than I use Classic pitching, so I'm not always hitting my desired spots and they are taking advantage.Currently Playing:

Re: Something Has Definitely Changed with The Show This Year
I'm not having any issues this year at all. I've restarted franchise a few times waiting for Knight's ST sliders, but since he released them, I restarted my final franchise and through 4 games, I'm leading the league in home runs and runs scored with the Yankees (I live in NY, not some fairweather fan). However, I have a friend who started with the Angels and through 8 games, he is 0-8 and averaging about 1.5 runs per game. We both plan on HoF batting and Legend pitching with pitch speed 2 clicks left and fielder speed and fielder throw strength a click left. I honestly am starting to think this may have something to do with the Yankees. Granted the Yankees are overrated in The Show every year, but this year, it seems they're a head above everyone else and the only team capable of scoring big runs.Comment

Re: Something Has Definitely Changed with The Show This Year
I'm using TNK's sliders with Pure Analog hitting. I've scored something like 85 or 90 runs in 11 games. With the Mariners!
Just takes time. Try lowering the difficulty, adjusting sliders, etc. But really, 7 games is not enough to judge. You may be getting frustrated and not being as patient, swinging at bad pitches and just forcing it because you want your offense to get better right away.Comment

Re: Something Has Definitely Changed with The Show This Year
I'm just convinced that the game chooses what you get hits on. It's almost feels scripted (though i know it's not at all). I have recently been playing Pro Yakyuu Spirits 10 and I'm hitting the ball great on higher level settings. So my skill is not the issue.
The CPU in MLB 12 could throw me a ball down the middle and I won't move my stick (PCI) at all and power swing it (or contact, irrelevant) and the ball will be a low grounder to short. I'll be scratching my head and check my timing and contact.
Timing: Perfect
Contact: Wheelhouse
Then a few batters later I'll hit the ball on the top left hand side of the ball with GOOD contact and it'll be a jack to opposite field. 420 foot homerun.
Makes no sense really.Comment
