Actually you CAN continue, you are just choosing to ignore all the information that has been laid out in front of you, and all the suggestions I have given you. Stop trolling. You have options, and I even gave you a way to test your own file to be positive there won't be future corruption, but all you're interested in doing is perpetuating your whiny, argumenty,... whatever you're doing.... attitude.Comment

Re: Freezing issues after the new patch (Exhibition, Franchise and RTTS)
Wow....at this thread. Just wow.
....and the way some guys are fanning the flames is absurd.
(especially ones who said they were giving up on this game two weeks ago!)
Guys...we didn't even know until yesterday whether we would be able to continue franchises or not. Most guys who referenced the previous schedule patch even stated we were forced to restart our franchise with that patch.
"I'm five games into my franchise and I have to restart?!!!!"Seriously?
Yes...I realize some guys are way deep into it....that sucks.
Heck...I've set up my franchise with injuries/moves and such three times now, and I certainly didn't want to do it again..... But c'mon....we're playing a game here, not trying to cure cancer.
Some of you guys are sad.
I'd feel sorry for you ....but I'm heartless.

That said though, when a company advertises certain features, and then two patches later, those features still don't work properly (ie, PS3/Vita compatibility now, or current franchises freezing), then they (SCEA) needs to understand why people who dropped $80 would be upset. Granted, a select few tend to jump off the deep end, but I personally don't think it can be argued that there is some slight disconnect in quality control over there; both the schedule times and the freezing were literally noticed by consumers within minutes of playing those respective modes.
Ultimately, you're right, it is just a videogame. And, I'm happy as hell I can finally start my Cubs franchise (and even happier I waited, haha.. no freeze for me), but still, this doesn't look good, and whether fully warranted or not, consumers can be a nasty, non-sensical group, and are quick to turn when they feel they've been wronged.
SCEA just needs to be careful right now IMO, and REALLLLLLLLY go the extra mile with their testing for this next fix.Comment

Where do you go to delete the patch?
In game data utility, there are only 2 files, both dated 3/6/12.Last edited by pistolpete; 04-14-2012, 09:55 AM.Comment

Re: Freezing issues after the new patch (Exhibition, Franchise and RTTS)
XMB Menu in your PS3 (outside of The Show). Go to the "Game" submenu, where you would normally go to click on the disc and start the game. Instead, scroll up to the folder labeled "Game Data"
Go to the file labeled "Additional Content," press Triangle, and select "delete."Comment

I apologize for being whiny, but this issue is a pretty bad.
They could go ahead and take down the patch so future people don't download it.Comment

Re: Freezing issues after the new patch (Exhibition, Franchise and RTTS)
New franchises will not have any problems, and old franchises that have progressed to May 1st or later will only freeze if the user tries to look back at previous games that took place in April. There may be other side effects, but basically as long as you don't go out of your way, you should be fine.
Edit: In a pre-existing franchise file, there's also a few teams that will finish the season with only 161 games played. I don't know how this will affect statistics or any of that.Last edited by Bobhead; 04-14-2012, 10:21 AM.Comment

Re: Freezing issues after the new patch (Exhibition, Franchise and RTTS)
In case info can still help....
I had the freeze last night. Figured it was an isolated incident, tried again and it totally froze my PS3.
Playing Franchise. Red Sox. OSFM rosters. May 1st. Just controlling my team.
I was uploading a save file from the cloud, once it uploaded I went to flip the page of options and it froze. Same thing the next time, almost immediately after loading......really no chance to go/try to do anything.
I actually played a game, no problems after downloading the patch.
I then sent it to the cloud and played a game on the Vita before then trying to go back to the PS3 and have this happen.
My first thought was "I must have forgotten to download the Vita patch and that's why it's messing up on the PS3", then I saw there was no Vita patch. Ugh!
Hopefully they figure this out, I swear I've seen companies retract updates that have caused problems, so I hope there is some way to do this......get rid of the stupid patch.
I wouldn't care if all I had to do was delete it myself - but I saw someone say I'd no longer be able to use cloud saves?
I bought a Vita 100% for this game......so that's not really an option. My Franchise seems to be okay on the Vita, but if I just play on that, I now have a $60 coaster.
I really want to go off and vent some more.........but if they fix this things will be okay, so I'll give it a little time. And if not - this is the type of thing, at least to me, that would cause me to never buy the product again.Comment

Re: Freezing issues after the new patch (Exhibition, Franchise and RTTS)
No you're right it's a pretty terrible problem, I'm not happy either, but cluttering the thread up doesn't really help, and only makes it harder for people to find information they are looking for.
Only existing franchises. The game only freezes when you try to open the schedule for the month of April, and only if some of those games have already been completed.

Re: Freezing issues after the new patch (Exhibition, Franchise and RTTS)
Yesterday I saw a few posts about in game freezes after the game ended and one user had frozen on a ground rule double. Will this happen new/existing with the patch? Also, do the decimal statistics occur in new patched franchises?Comment

Re: Freezing issues after the new patch (Exhibition, Franchise and RTTS)
The freeze seems to stem from the patch trying to move certain games to different dates, based on changes to the real life MLB schedule. If these games are already played, it causes a conflict in the database. If you haven't already played them, then you're in the clear.
The decimal stats thing is unavoidable, and I dont know anything about the ground rule double freeze.Last edited by Bobhead; 04-14-2012, 10:58 AM.Comment

Well I think (hope, lol) that most people understand that. Typically a few vocal members can make the minority sound much louder than they are.
