Are you using 30 team control? I just started a new franchise with single team control and have no problems.

teddy, according to the pro's on here (most of them), that would count as a coincidence, so my suggestion to you is, try again, if it happens again then there might be a bigger problem then what is coming from some of the more "experienced" people on this sight

That's what I would say for now. I started 2 new franchises since the patch and have done whatever I wanted to do and there has been no freeze. I would say the same thing, try it again.

So if I'm still in April, I need to delete the franchise and the patch then redownload the patch and start a new franchise, or just delete the franchise and start a new one?

You don't need to delete your franchise at all, just the patch. Just take a look at the very first post of this thread.

I've only completed 2 games so I don't mind starting my franchise over. My question what is the best procedure to go in a franchise with the patch intact? Yes I did read the post but I'm still confused as to what to do.

You should be ok with the patch if you start a new franchise. That's what I did and have no problems. Even worked out a test franchise with the A's and had no problems.

Just in case it helps anyone else, I'm freezing consistently in my Tigers season mode:

* Started the season prior to the patch
* Have one created player and otherwise regular SCEA rosters
* Freezing when I go to "View Organizations Game" on April 15 vs. KC
* Uninstalled patch 1.6 and still froze at the same place
* Reinstalled the patch and still froze at the same place

I'm starting my season over now. Bummer.

Am I the only one who kept freezing after uninstalling the patch? Pretty weird if so.

so is deleting the patch just a temporary fix until scea comes out with a patch to fix the patch? if so, then why waste your time going on without the patch if there's a chance that we would have to restart our franchises, or never play online? am i missing something?

Because even if you go on with the patch there's still a chance we will have to restart down the line for this future patch.

And you shouldn't get any freezes after deleting the patch, unless you saved your franchise before deleting.

If it comes down to having to restart a franchise, to get the correct game times with the patch, or going without the patch to continue a franchise I'm 40 plus into, I will just NOT download the patch.

Luckily, I have 2 PS3's. I can download the patch on my OLD fat PS3, to go online and get rosters if I need them, then move them to a USB drive, and import them to my NEW slim PS3, and keep that one going without the patch.

You should be ok with the patch if you start a new franchise. That's what I did and have no problems. Even worked out a test franchise with the A's and had no problems.

First thing to try is make sure your disk is clean and not scratched at all. If that is fine then try another game to see if there are any problems, if not then it might be the disk, but if any other games give you trouble then it could be the PS3. It just might have some dust in it or something.

Thanks for answering my Q! I ended up exchanging the game and so far three games in and no lag I just got the PS3 and the Show 12 3 weeks ago cause I was sick in tired with MLB 2k. Hope doesn't happen again if it does than I'll know it's a bug. By any chance you heard anything about the new playoff format if its gonna be put in later? I'm afraid to start my franchise but with all this issues I'm thinking they might skip it. Its a shame cause I like the new playoffs format the more teams that make it the better, prefer the NFL system one day to be put in the MLB. Thanks again!

Nope. The new playoff system is something that Sony cannot put in without totally scewing up the game.

I just started a brand new Mariner's franchise after reading this tonight. I started the first game of spring training and noticed the commentary stopped after the first pitch, didn't really pay attention to it until I switched sides after the top half of the 1st, when I came up to bat, the game froze. It did this three times and every time the commentary stopped after the first pitch. I was under the assumption new franchises were safe. I am using Knight's roster set with TKM's sliders and have the patch.
