Re: Da Astros
My class got cancelled today...all that means is that I'll be spending the time I could have been sleeping (if I hadn't had to wake up) or in class sorting out that 5th starter spot haha. Harrell may have the edge right now, although Weiland is scheduled to start against Detroit, so depending on how that goes it could sway back.
Also, Wallace is definitely raking for me. He could break camp as the starter at 3rd base if Johnson doesn't do something to make me play him.
EDIT: I lost 2-1 to Detroit. But I was hitting the ball well, more solid contact this time around. As for Weiland...5IP, 4h, 2ER, 4K was his final line. He got touched up by a Peralta 2-run homer in the 4th inning. But he pitched well outside of the one mistake.
Noteworthy Performances: Jose Altuve goes 2-4 with a pair of steals, Carlos Lee had a double and the lone RBI. Anuery Rodriguez had 4Ks in 2 innings of relief.
Next Game: Houston vs St Louis
Harrell (0-0, 0.00) vs Westbrook (1-0, 2.33)
Recap: Harrell goes 4 strong, allowing a couple hits but no runs. His final line looks like this:
4IP, 3h, 0ER, 2K
Chris Snyder continues his tear over the last week, hits a 415 foot homer off Adam Wainwright to give the Astros a 1-0 lead in the 5th. Also, the top 3 in the lineup all had 2 hits a piece (Maxwell, Paredes, Wallace) but none of them led to any runs...stupid singles hitting team lol.Last edited by TheNumber35; 06-25-2012, 08:12 AM.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Re: Da Astros
MGOBLUE321's OSFM V4 for now...when Scott's drop I'll probably restart, which is why I'm just in Spring feeling the team out for now. Thanks to NFG4M for convincing me to do that, cuz I'm gonna hate it when all ya'll are talking about McCullers and Correa dominating. And I have no ace and a replacement level SS lol.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Re: Da Astros
Just finished that game I was playing up...3-2 Cardinals in 12. Lyon blew a save in the 8th followed by me scoring on a Wallace single, after a Paredes triple. In comes Brett Myers, mistake on my part. Gives up a leadoff triple, gets the next guy, then gives up another triple to tie the game. He follows by walking Furcal and giving up a hit to the pitcher (again!)Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Re: Da Astros
You have no idea...Myers came in as my guy, but there's no way I can use him as a closer because he loves to give up walkoff HRs and hits to the pitcher spot.
Any suggestions? Should I use Cruz right off the bat or use someone else as a fill-in guy?Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Re: Da Astros
But I just played Weiland's next start...sad to say but I think this battle is over. Weiland's line against the Mets: 5IP, 6h, 4ER (5R), 2BB, 4K. He pitched alright but he was really shaky the whole game. His control was way off and he served up 3...count them 3 HR balls before it was all said and done. But on the positive side, Jason Castro hit a bat flippin', monster moonshot, no-doubt 2-R HR. It went 430 feet lol. Altuve also chimmed in with a 2RBI single. But we lost 5-4.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

I'm looking for a OSFMv4. 30 team control, opening day, franchise file w/injuries and lineups set (where CPU trading is on!). Geez I feel like I was ordering my favorite sub. lol
I'm not going to go with Scott's rosters. No knock to them or anybody who will use them, because they sound great! But as great as they sound, I don't like the idea of effectively having "bonus" rookies in 2012. Having Correa, McCullers, AND then drafting "in-game" 1st round pick, just seems like overkill.
Besides, I enjoy having everything up to date as of opening day, and then letting my franchise universe take over. That's another reason why I really wish I didn't have to start over... Low rated guys who had surprising good starts (Chris Snyder, Travis Buck, Fernando Martinez) it's going to be hard destroy what could have been their career seasons. Oh well, that's what I get for starting a franchise without testing it out first.Madden Breakdowns Full YOUTUBE Playlist

Re: Da Astros
That's what I was thinking...he has the stuff to close, we'll see if he has the moxy as well. Because there is NO way that I'm dealing with Myers and his 23.50 ERA in spring for the whole season lol.

Re: Da Astros
Is that a franchise file or a roster set?
