Re: Da Astros
I love it when this game basically predicts that you're going to have a terrible inning on the mound.
I had a masterpiece going with Jordan Lyles, striking guys out left and right. I had a little bit of a struggle in an inning where Lowrie had a throwing error, and then Neil Walker hit a double to put runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs... but with some masterful pitching I was able to get out of it without giving up a single run.
Then the 6th inning came along with the game still tied 0-0. Andrew McCutchen came up to bat and Dave Campbell said, "And with their 3, 4, and 5 hitters coming up, you'd think they would get something started right here" (not verbatim, but something along those lines)....
Next thing you know I can't hit the strike zone to save my life. I walk McCutchen on 4 pitches, then get down 2-0 to Garrett Jones and he responds by destroying the next pitch for a 2-run HR. Neil Walker follows that up with a solo HR. Jed Lowrie gets an error on the next batter. Next guy hits a single to RF, and then Wilson Valdez hits a 3-run HR. 6 run inning after running through 5 innings, basically.
I know these things happen, but DAMN... I felt completely powerless.Comment

Re: Da Astros
Side note... I ordered MLB.TV so i could watch some Stros ballgames. I get to see how they actually play. I tell you JD is a tall dude. He kinda reminds me of Francoeur. Seriously. Of course I get to see my Royals play as well. Sweet deal on the package.PSN: Dreamchaser_865

Re: Da Astros
I made up my mind finally...
I gonna start a season with Houston and franchise with Royals.
How long you think it will take the Royals to be contenders in the game?
I don't like taking over a team that it takes no time to rebuild and make noise.PSN: Dreamchaser_865

Re: Da Astros
in the game, i dont see why u cant make .500 right away if u overhaul your entire pitching staff and get whatever prospects u can for them...gunna need a starting catcher since Perez is out for a while and Quintero isn't starting material....gunna have to decide between Getz and Giovatella at 2nd...shudd be anxious to see what Cain can do every day in CF but mainly it's the pitching...if it can tread water and give u an average year and if the offense can light up the scoreboard, its not out of the realm to win a few games.....i say by year 2014, the Royals can be looked at as contendersSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Re: Da Astros
In the game, I think you can contend with the Royals almost immediately. At least by the second year. Their rotation isn't good (Chen #1?!?!?!?!) so I'd build that up but I think the lineup is sick. I've played with them a little and I loved it.Comment

Re: Da Astros
if u sim all ur games and only save if u win, then yeah....but for a team like the Royals who haven't sniffed success in a while, i think baby steps would be the way to go.....that starting pitching staff is the major reason why i would disagree with uSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment
