    Re: Da Astros

I agree. Their starters are horrible. But the offense is underachieving this year IRL. Once their guys get going I think we'll see them play close to .500 ball. As far as the game goes though, their offense is great and I rake with them. So you could probably hover around .500 and trade some prospects for pitching and maybe contend first year. That's what I would do if I played with them. I would say you could easily contend second year, and I think IRL they'll contend next year or be close, as long as they can get some pitching.

maybe 2nd year but that'll take all the pieces falling into place......wudd probably need all the pitching prospects that are ready in 2012 and '13 to really live up to their potential

That gives Singleton time to develop in the minors. Hopefully I can get a veteran left fielder in the the Wandy Rodriguez sweepstakes.
Well I started one last night and was just messing around with some trades and I can make the team real good without giving away all the prospects, but they were all unfair trades.

Angels get: Myers, C. Johnson, T. Buck
        Astros get: Aybar, Walden, Abreu

        Nationals Get: Schafer, Cedeno
        Astros Get: LaRoche, DeRosa, Rodriguez

        Dbacks Get: Francoeur, Kouzmanoff, Lowrie
        Astros Get: Bloomquist, Upton, Blum

Royals Get : Bogusevic, Shuck, Snyder, C. Lee, Harrell, Paredes
Astros Get: Crow, Moustakas, Gordon, Kouzmanoff, Francoeur, Maier

Orioles Get: W. Rodriguez, Buchanan, Hallock
Astros Get: Arrieta, D. Bundy, Matusz

So as you can see some unfair trades, but I will be restarting it today

MLB.tv is awesome. I have it and I watch it on my Kindle fire at the bowling alley and I can watch it on my phone as well.

The best is watching a game on the Tv and playing the Show on a tv next to the other one, then watching another game on the computer at the same time next to all that or go the 4 game rout on the computer and 8 game on Direct tv

So tonight is the night...I'll get Spring Training for the Astros under way in under 4 hours. Wandy vs Strasburg, here we go!

Do you guys hire the best scouts on the market or rather stick with the so-so ones you have to begin with?

hire the best scouts although usin Hustin's 25-man roster franchise file, the group of scouts associated with that franchise stink

How the **** do you pitch with Wandy? 3 games into spring training and been lit up like the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. He started the first game vs Strasburg and allowed 8 ER in 2 IP. How do you approach hitters with him?

David Carpenter and Rhiner Cruz along with lefties Abad, Escalona and Wright have been solid in the bullpen so far. Myers went 1-2-3 in his lone inning of work. Gonna give Lyon an inning or two in the next game as he's only been up and throwing without seeing any action yet.

Can't hit a beach ball with Chris Johnson or Justin Maxwell.

i mostly use my curve and change-up with Wandy since his fastball only tops out at about 90 mph....i try to stick to the 4 corners since i know if i throw it anywhere in the middle of the plate, it'll get rocked...and i used to despise CJ but he's actually holding his own so far....Maxwell is a bum...u shuddnt lose any sleep over him

Also, Lucas Harrell came into relief for Wandy in the game I mentioned. He gave up 5 ER in 1 IP...

It's only been three games but having a good back end of the rotation feels extremely important if I wanna be able to contend with my starter more than 4-5 innings. Thinking of looking into a veteran like Livan Hernandez or Bartolo Colon as an innings eater. Guess Livan would come pretty cheap. Any more old vet starters that fits the mold of acquiring cheap? Kevin Millwod? Aaron Cook?

lol @ Harrell....i demoted him as soon as i saw him in my rotation day 1......regarding ur back end of the rotation, how about giving Jordan Lyles a shot first before signing a veteran? he's been a total beast for me
