Downs is 0-4 at this point as a late inning defensive sub and pinch hitter. He'll probably stay as a bench guy, pinch hitter, def sub given his versatility.

You're probably right about Garcia. Figured I'd get him cheap. I'll have to do some research.

Interesting call with David Ross. Working out well for you?

rather pay more for a guy whose gunna be productive then for a cheap useless bum......so far Ross is ok, acquired him since he was hitting over .300 for a last-place ATL team......gave him a couple of pinch-hit opportunities and he has come thru

You got me really interested in Ross. Was also thinking Chris Stewart for def sub with is power arm. He could probably be had dirt cheap from the Bronx. He could be the perfect AAA guy if nothing else

Ross serves his purpose.....for a backup catcher, i value a bat more than a glove since im subpar at hitting as is.....i'd rather go with Teagarden than Stewart if i had to pick......Ryan Hanigan from the Reds is another great option if the Reds fall out of it

Lee now has 3 HR in 2 games for me.

Stewart will cost a C but the crappiest possible I have who's rottening away in A-ball

            Teagarden will cost a B

Ross will cost a C in the form of a reliever and the Braves want someone like Del Rosario

unless ur gunna use Teagarden often, i wuddnt give up a B......i gave up 2 C's for Ross (a spare CF and 3B)

Strictly a platoon I had in mind with Teagarden vs L and Castro vs R. Figured I'd go after Stewart if I won't find a C on the wire in late March. Small sample size but C-Jo is hitting .300 and has gone deep twice

told ya to give him a chance lol...yeah there aren't many good FA backup catchers to begin the season...that's why i gave Snyder a longer leash then i ever should've but i brought up my AA catcher and he's been solid for me for a while now

Chris Johnson is underrated in my opinion of course. He not a superstar but his glove isn't bad nor is his bat. That's why I was sold on him earlier in this thread. Some odd reason he reminds me of Chris Sabo. Jed Lowrie will produce as well, sometimes it takes time to warm up. My only concern right now is right field. Pitching is what hurting me at the moment. I always look into my system before looking into other organizations. Hopefully my minor league pitchers will get great outings in the lower level. I also tend to bring up a veteran player before a rookie to help with chemistry in the clubhouse. Wanna know how much that takes affect with the confidence meter. Just a thought.

surprisingly i actually heeded ur advice about Johnson...i was this close to shipping him off somewhere....Lowrie has been ok but not anything special for me but Villar has been struggling in the minors so i cant justify bringing him up.....im loving my RF situation.....Vladdy is off to a hot start and hopefully he can remain steady throughout the rest of the year.....had to move Bogusevic over to CF....not losing much defensively either....as far as pitching goes, Weiland has been uninspiring for me all year and i've had enuf of *1 good start, 1 bad start*...also tired of having a revolving door at my 5th spot so i promoted the Astros #1 pitching prospect in Jarred Cosart and im praying he can be halfway decent.....if not, imma be lookin for other options

Haha! There's a kid named Lucas Harrell that could fill that 5th spot. So Schafer is down for you? Glad you took my advice. He just a slow starter but when his bat is hot better watch out. He finds holes in the defense more than hitting home runs but I had a few with him tho. His base running skills not so fast my friend. Hopefully there's a few more like Johnson in the system. You pulled a move I wouldn't do. But it seems you doing well with Vladdy. You took a major risk in my eyes because if he get hurts you lost in that deal. Have you shipped Lee or Wandy yet? I know you wanna win now but what is your plans after shipping them off if you haven't already. Btw what is your throw out percentage with Johnson? I think managing Da Stros is the most incredible experience I had in a virtual game.

Harrell is actually pretty decent as the 5th starter in AAA...but he's not gettin a shot lol...yup Schafer got injured a while back...i cudd care less honestly...he was gunna get benched or sent down anyway...blessing in disguse if u ask me....lets not make Johnson out to be A-Rod here lol....he's hitting for a decent average with no hr power nor is he driving many guys in....with Vladdy, none of the Astros minor league OF'ers are anywhere near ready IRL so i tried to mimic that in the game.....i wasnt comfy bringing up any of the journeymen OF so i decided with Vladdy....if he gets hurt, im screwed as he's becoming an integral part of my lineup....i know i stated this a while back but im not trading Lee or Wandy....Lee is my only power threat in the lineup and Wandy is putting up ace-type numbers....and no i dunno Johnson's fielding % off the top of my head...def agree with the enjoyment of playing with the Astros...if i were playing with the Yanks or Sox, i'd be bored chitless by now

just made another deal, sending Jason Castro, Jose Altuve and Nick Tropeano (B pitching prospect) to the White Sox for Gordon Beckham....they're well out of playoff contention and Lowrie was hitting the skids
