    Re: Da Astros

In my opinion the only cornerstones on the current MLB roster are Martinez, Norris, and Lyles( in my case)....Altuve and Castro are on the outside lookin in cause i really like them and will give them a longer leash then most guys

In my third season i have finally brought up cosart for his shot .. filthy. I think he went 7 innings 3 hits (1hr), 1ER and 8k's. I think ill enjoy pitching with him. Hopefully a means to be rid of Happ or Sosa. With all the young talented SP'ing ive got they'll both be gone soon.

As for schafer i really dont like the guy. I traded the A prospect in AAA so unfortunately im stuck with him. Hes fast and works well in the huge center field but i just cant hit with him and the sub par arm doesnt do it for me either. When scouting ive been searching and searching for a future replacement but nothing yet and FA sucked last season. For now he bats 8th and doesnt do much.

As for cornerstone players what about the 1B prospect singleton. In my third season (ive simmed two basically) he has progressed into a beast. Higher contact and power than martinez.. havent put much together with him yet but i think it will come (just 6 games in) . Has anybody gotten to the point that they use him yet and how is he doing for you?

Sorry if this has been addressed im on my phone so searching around is a bit difficult lol..

definitely Singleton is part of my future plans....i was just speaking currently since i'm not even 20 games into my franchise yet....i started him off in AAA and plan on leaving him there until at least the All-Star Break

Hello i just started an astros franchise and i was wondering if this was a good trade. I traded wandy for brandon beachy and jair jurrjens fron the braves?
I also signed derek lee to play 1st base while carlos lee plays right field.

Any other trades or free agents i should acquire?

no that's not a good trade.....and i woulda left Lee at 1B and signed Guerrero to play RF if i had to make a move

Wandy has 1 win and 5 losses 5.82 era with 66 k and 15 walks

Jurrjens sucks 0 and 5 anyone i can trade him to?

                Beachy is 3-2 3.05 era 61 k and 21 walks
Bud norris is a beast so far for me he has 5 wins 0 losses 2.54 era 61 k and 21 walks through may.

I also signed jorge soler in april he is batting .337 with 6 homeruns and 26 rbi's is that a good signing?

Any trades i can make to get rid of brian bogusevic and jurrjens? They are bith horrible

Soler wont sign with the Astros IRL, but i can understand it in the game.....is Jurjjen's ERA off the roof bad? if so, u'd be lucky to get a C prospect in return...look for teams who can use an upgrade at their 5th starter spot or a team who has a starting pitcher injured for a long time.....as for Bogusevic, if he stinks that bad, i wouldnt expect anything more then a D prospect in return for him either...same theory applies with Bogusevic as to Jurrjens as to what teams could use his services

that's not atrocious...he can be a useful back-end-of-the rotation starter on a contending team...i'd ask for 2 C's in return for him

Jurrjens is now 2 and 5 with a 3.43 era and has pitched 2 complete games in his last 2 starts.
In his last start he had a no hitter going until the 8th and ended up allowing 3 hits 0 runs and 10 k's at the rangers.

Derrick and carlos lee are doing great.
                        Martinez is also doing great.

Jorge soler is by far the best player in the linup posting a .343 batting average through june with 8 homers.

nice to see JJ put together 2 back-to-back CG's....if Soler's doing THAT well, i might have to look into him cause i have a gaping hole in CF

Looks like I'm giving in and starting a Stros's chise. I can't seem to play with the Twins, and no other team than the Blue Jays have been able to keep me interested hopefully this does the trick.

This thread is a great way to keep the interest level up. You read up on what other gamers are up to and how you handle promotions etc. Loving it
