still have faith in Stony Brook makin a comeback?

i agree that it does feel unusual for the 'Stros to be winning....but it's the benefit of countless hours of work put in....i'd rather be in this position then being 20 games under if i played all the games

Braves, Cubs, Pirates, Rockies, Giants, Orioles, White Sox, Twins, Athletics, Mariners.

Based on those teams (there out of it in my franchise) whos some target MLB ready third baseman that i can go after that shouldnt cost me much, or old vets that could help with my run

also, im not throwing in the towel by no means, but i placed Wandy on the block just to see what kind of offers i would get, if any. he holds a 6-6 record with a 3.79ERA. The angels are interested in him right now, Would it be wise to trade him being in the run? if so Who could i get from the Angels for him? Also Bud Norris has been horrible posting a 2-6 record and a 4.82ERA

well what's your honest assessment in how Wandy's pitched so far? has he been pitching lights out but with no run support? has he been gettin hit hard? somewhere in between? if u trade Wandy, who would be your ace since Norris is spitting the bit?....before u say it, Happ is not an ace on any staff....u'd be asking him to overperform his capabilities....do u have a starter in AAA whose capable of moving into the Astros rotation right away? do u plan on trading for an ace on a non-contending team and prepared to give up some talented prospects? u gotta ask yourself all these questions

I understand where your coming from about Happ, i know hes not an Ace.... BUT based on the way he has performed all year, he has been my stud. And if he continues to pitch like this all year, and we make the playoffs, he will get the ball in game one.

If i did Trade him Lyles would get called up, Bud has just been horrible for me. But back to Wandy. Its a little bit of both really, Sometimes he cant get run support, Sometimes he just gets rocked. And sometimes the bullpen blows his lead

fair enough....if Happ is your guy, who am i to move u down a different path? u gunna send Bud down or give him another chance?.....if i were the Angels, i honestly wouldn't give up more then 3 C's max for Wandy

see thats the thing, i dont feel like Happ is a Ace type pitcher, but based on whats hes done for me to this point and what Bud hasn't, i have no choice but to think like that, you kno. I honestly dont think Bud Norris is a Ace type pitcher either, but on this staff, he should be. But he just hasnt stepped up. I would like to not move him down because i do think highly of Bud, so he will probably get a couple more starts before a decision is made.

                            Re: Da Astros

Man on man, we are on a 7 game losing streak... Very frustrating because we just can't get any timely hitting.

Anyway its the point in my franchise (Game 34) where I'm going to make my call up to the majors (based on performance). This week it will be a reliever and next week a position player.

I'm going to demote Fernando Rodriguez. He was hot to start the season but as of late has been stinking it up (6.35 ERA and 2.4 HR/9).

I'm debating if I should bring up a starting pitcher (Paul Clemens and Henry Villar are candidates from AAA) as the long reliever. That would allow me to move Welsey Wright out of that long reliever spot to a middle reliever. Or should I re-promote David Carpenter from AAA (was moved down when Lowrie came off the DL). Carpenter has a spotless ERA in 9 innings of work with 10 K / 1 BB. The last candidate is Anuery Rodriguez. He is currently working the closer role in AAA sporting a 1.42 ERA / 4 saves and 20 K / 4 BB in 19 innings of work.

                            ---

With all that being said, I might want to delay my reliever promotion a few days as Jordan Schafer got a minor injury and is day to day (He was playing so well too!). We are in a part of the schedule were we play 13 straight games without an off day. So I'm going to need as many position players for resting purposes.

Should I promote an outfielder for injury purposes until Schafer is healthy? I have Bixler and Bogey on on the bench right now.

u have plenty of choices man...i gave u one...if ur willing to give up prospects, u can get a legit ace...but it's all about what your comfy with...and Happ seems to be your de facto ace so continue rolling with him and see how far he can take u....and agree with Norris's stuff...he can be inconsistent so i do know where ur comin from regardin him

for your long guy, id go with Villar because i'd want Clemens to develop more in the minors so when i do promote him, it will be as a starter rather then having him pitch once a week... i dont think Carpenter's or Rodriguez's stamina mirror that of a legit long guy....that's up to u to decide however because i dont know how u use your long reliever.....if Bogey and Bixler aren't cutting it or if u have a surplus of relievers, yeah i'd find somebody to keep the bench warm for a couple of days until Schafer is healthy
