Tony Gwynn: .316/1 HR/6 rbi/9 SB/ 57 AB
Uribe: .282/8 HR/18 rbi/170 AB

Mark Ellis: .261/2 HR/17 rbi/218 AB
AJ Ellis is in the DL and Kemp and Ethier are having good seasons
Bullpen looks very solid except for Scott Elbert, and ur rotation is very good too.
Currently 1.5 games ahead of Dbacks (who are also interested in Lee).
Hope to hear back from you soon,

Topic: Carlos Lee
Here's the thing, Juan Rivera is doing fairly well with his homer and RBI numbers so he has a place in our lineup. Carlos Lee could be brought in to play first but that would require you to take Loney and if that occurred, we would require a prospect 1B in return. Basically what we have in mind would look like this ...
Astros get: OF Baldwin, P Eovaldi, 1B Loney
Dodgers get: OF Lee, prospect 1B
The main thing that would keep this from happening is your refusal to take Loney in the deal and throw in a prospect 1B or if Lee has more than a 1 year deal. I don't want to pay him at his age for more than a year, I consider him a glorified rental.

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012
Well, this offer certainly does blow us away! We really like Alvarez, but are tentative to give up Aumont. This would probably be a good deal near the deadline, just let us know where we stand in the division and we MAY be willing to give up Aumont. We regard him highly as the future of our bullpen. However Alvarez is definitely a nice addition.Comment

RE: Carlos Lee
Couldn't you guys just put him in the bench and use him in pinch hit situations?
It is problematic that he doesnt have any secondary positions, but we really have no interest in him at all. He will be a FA after this year and we would most likely not resign him because the crown jewel of our system, Jonathan Singleton, will be ready to take over that spot by then.
Please think about this and get back to us with your take.

If you guys are back more than 7 games at the all star break, I'll contact you. I'm operating under the assumption that we have agreed in principle to this deal, and I'm not going to entertain any offers for anyone in this trade unless it's a stupidly good offer.

We have reconsidered and will use Loney as a pinch hitter/1B sub and let him walk this offseason. As long as Carlos Lee is also a FA this offseason then we will agree to the following trade ...
Astros get: OF Baldwin & P Eovaldi
Dodgers get: OF Lee
If this deal is final let us know and it was a pleasure working with you're fine organization.

RE: Possible Trade, need more info at your convenience.
Could you just give me slash or pitching lines in YOUR current franchise, and records of the teams again and division placement?
I know you gave a few stats, but I really need the numbers for all principals to make a sound judgment. It won't be a waste of your time, I would say that the deal would work, especially if I don't have to include Al A. -- just want to take the best look I can to be as fair as possible from the Tigers Organization's perspective.

Hi Dave,
My sincerest apologies for the delay. You give an intern a simple task, and then you find out it was never done. But anyway, that's neither here nor there. Here is the info you requested, please let us know if we can provide anything else (everything current as of 6/13/12).

As always, appreciate your time in this matter.

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012
I like that, 3 b's in general should be a good place to start, it's a little heavy on pitchers (they're all starter's, right?). My franchise needs are irrelevant (my Cubs are in May 2013, so that's way ooc), but in general, in 2012, assuming the Cubs aren't in major contention (that's the kind of info I'll need to give a really good response), their needs would be (not nec. in order): a good, ML ready 2B (unless Barney or whoever is killing it, in which case a legit 2B prospect); a better 3B that Stewart (unless he's on fire, in which case the need would be a 3B prospect better than Vitters); SP prospects in general, a lefty would be nice; and maybe a power prospect in the OF, if your Cubs don't have Soler (if they do, then a young CF prospect would be great). And part of the deal would probably be taking on someone the Cubs need to get rid of, like Soriano, Dempster, Marmol, Byrd, Maholm, older overpaid bench/AAA players; the point is, to make this deal, you'd have to do something to help the Cubs rebuild.Comment

Re: Carlos Lee
I think that keeping Loney in your team is a great desicion, he could provide a proven bat off the bench and add another element to your team.
Regarding your question about Lee's contract, he is in the final year of his contract so he will be a FA if you guys don't decide to resign him.
Before we finalize a deal we are just wondering what it would take for you to replace Eovaldi with Withrow in the deal. We like Withrow much more and we would be willing to give you one of our major-leaguers or a young prospect in return.
If you need any info regarding some of our players please don't hesitate to ask, we would be happy to provide it for you.
Doing business with you has been great, hope to hear back from you soon.

Withrow has been putting up better numbers than Eovaldi has been so we feel keeping Withrow would be the better way to go but you can get him if the deal is right. We are in DESPERATE need of help at 3B and C so if you could give us the stats for your younger 3B's and C's as well as what their potential is would be a great starting point!

Jacob Anderson (RF/1B)
Dwight Smith, Jr. (LF/CF)
Eric Thames (LF/DH. Interestingly enough, played 2B in college...)
Justin Nicolino (SP)
Aaron Sanchez (SP)
Adonys Cardona (SP)
Joe Musgrove (SP)
Asher Wojciechowski (SP)
Every player I listed is a B potential player. Pick any three you want. Obviously, Thames is the most MLB-ready. I'm open to giving up any three of these, I'd really like Garza.
Also, in my experience, I've seen Wojciechowski go 14-6 with a 2.84 ERA and Dwight Smith, Jr. hit around .290 with 15-20 HRs, and 10-20 SBs.
The Cubs will have Soler, but I'm gonna make sure he's a RF, cause that's what he profiles as."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

definately interested in trading ceda, the positions were looking for are basically 1B and C because we are basically set every where else, these are the players im inquiring about, i dont need stats just if your interested.
chris johson, b/c apparently he can play first as well
jonathan singleton - great 1B prospect
Telvin Nash - another first basemen, definately interested in him
Michael Kvasnicka - Catcher in your high A system.
let me know if your interested in trading any of those players

We are really interested in your 25 y/o RP Jose Ceda.
We where wondering what your asking price for him would be.
So far in AAA his ERA is 3.78, 18 Ks in 16.2 IP, and 15 saves.
As of July 14 your team is in 4th place 5.5 gms behind.
As i said we would really like to make a deal,
Please get back to us soon,

-25 y/o D overall B potential
-stats in AAA are .259 avg/5 HR/25 rbi/.348 OBP/.393 slg%/1 error/201 AB
At catcher we don't have much, our backup catcher is having a good season, Chris Snyder:
-31 y/o C overall C ptential
-stats in majors are .299 avg/3 HR/5 rbi/.365 OBP/.507 slg%/67 AB
Best catching prospect, Chris Wallace:
-23 y/o D overall C potential
-stats in AA .264 avg/4 HR/27 rbi/ .327 OBP/.374 slg%/182 AB
A young player that we think would interest you would be our 1B prospect Telvin Nash who is currently stuck behind our top prospect Singleton bc they play the same position.
His info:
-21 y/o D overall B potential
-stats in AA: .205 avg/6 HR/15 rbi/.245 OBP/.364 slg%/avg vs Lefties .333/avg vs Righties .205/5 errors/132 AB
We believe he has a bright future but unfortunately he won't have a spot in our team bc of Singleton.
If you want Telvin Nash or Brett Wallace we would like a C prospect added to the deal (negotiable).

RE: Jose Ceda
We are glad to hear that you are willing to trade Ceda.
Right off the bat we are going to tell you that we are not going to trade Jonathan Singleton. He is the crown jewel of our system and he is having a ridiculous season so far in AAA, so he is out of the question.
As far as Telvin Nash and Chris Johnson we could work out a deal with those guys. Nash's stats I posted recently and Chris Johnson is currently batting in the .250s with 3 HR and 14 rbi (he was in he DL for a month).
Are you using OSFM opening day rosters? because i dont recall seeing the catching prospect you mentioned there. I could be wrong though, I just can't remember.
If you need anything else ill be glad to provide it to you.
