Seems like the best way to do this would be to go off the proposers franchise. It would probably helped if when suggesting a trade, they give you some background info on how each team is doing. It doesn't make much sense to go off your franchise as you aren't the one doing the trade

Exactly, as a representative GM you should be taking the role of the GM of the team he wants to deal with in his franchise.

The poster would have to tell you the details in his franchise like standings, injury, performance, etc.

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012

Is this thread also something that could be used as say a "trading block" place.

        EX:
I am the Braves in season 2012, and am 30 games back on June 15th. I want to move Tim Hudson. ( I would then fill in information as to Hudson's stats, and teams who I would consider looking for SP help for playoff push)

Panel of GM's for above listed teams could then put together a possible package... Or atleast something along the lines of two A's and a B... (something to that extent)

Would this be something better suited for the trade discussion thread???
Just curious to how far this trade is going to reach with trade talks.

Thanks in advance, and my apologies if this was answered previously and I missed it.

That could fit in this thread considering we're trying to keep it realistic instead of ripping off the CPU so easily.

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012

I think we should come up with list of untouchable/non-tradeable players and prospects, just so we have a general idea of starting for each team. Obviously top prospects like Trout and Harper won't get traded while guys like Mauer or Pujols won't be moved cause of contracts. It's largely subjective but I think we could come up with a commonly agreed upon list of players

I dont find it necessary, if the GM of that team finds the desired player untouchable he'll tell that to the other team.

Besides, no player is truly untouchable. For example, let's say the Rays really want to have Trout or Harper on their team, and they're offering Price, Longoria, Moore, and Desmond Jennings. You don't think the Nationals or Angels would make that deal?

I agree here.. I dont think there is such a thing as un-touchable.
BUT, obviously, the package must be right!

Also, have to keep in mind that division rivals, etc, obviously would require higher price tag to get a player than say an AL to NL swap. Thats another reason I feel a "trading block" type requests here would be nice.

EX: Atlanta might let a Tim Hudson go to Yankees for cheaper than they would letting him go to philly, washington, etc.... By getting several offers from different teams, this could help send him along for the correct package and correct team without ripping CPU. I obviously could make these decisions myself, but getting outside in-put would help keep from cheating CPU. Would make for some great deals i think.

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012

"Trading Block" requests COULD be made, just not sure how many of the representatives are going to think up hypothetical trades, especially since every franchise will be different. I don't think anyone would have any problem with it being involved in the project, but I'm not sure how useful the end result would be -- it is more negotiating FOR the CPU in trades that players already want to make to keep things fair and not thinking you've abused the game engine (which has always been a franchise killing thing, at least for me!)

You're still welcome to make those type of posts, just in the TO: part of the template, say something like TO: Any organizations interested in offering a package for (Player). Again, I can't guarantee it would help, but its not against the spirit of the project at all, so best of luck to you.

I think this would be an immense waste of paperwork and someone's time. I'd say most people who would get use out of this project will already have a fair idea of who is untouchable for each squad, but that's just me...

So the base information that should be in all offers or inquiries should be something along the lines of:

                        - Current date and year and the record and standings of both teams involved
                        - Contract status and current roster assignment (AA, AAA, MLB) of players involved
                        - Key stats
                        - Immediate depth at the positions of the players involved (since each franchise has its own CPU trades and roster moves, it would be good to know what changes have been made).

That should cover basically all the key, base information people would need to make decisions and any other info could be asked for in response.

Thanks. Yeah, I read through the whole thread, and saw wPA negotiating Bautista. Seems pretty cool.

I'd like to announce the as the Brewers and looking at their organization depth (there is none) if you're at a point in the season and the Brewers are out of it virtually their entire roster (likely not Braun though).

imma try and give this a shot, dont shoot me if this isnt what ya'll are looking for lol

TO: Tampa, Toronto or Any Interested GM's
                                From: Atlanta Braves GM
Subject: Micheal Bourn to the block

Im currently sitting at July 29th, i have a 4.5 game lead in the division over Miami and 6.5 over the Phillies

Bourn's just not cutting it for us and were looking to move him, he is currently in his final year of his contract and is free agent bound at the end of the season.

Now so you know i aquired Colby Rasmus in a trade earlier in the year for i believe peter moylan and a 'b or c prospect (could be wrong).

were looking at a couple different possibilities, esspecially with chipper retiring. Looking for a LF, CF, 3B or SS. What can you offer me.

not sure if this is how yall want this to go but figured i would give it a shot. sorry if this is wrong. also in the TO: section i put it like that to see what everybody would offer but i also singled out toronto and the rays simply because according to the rumor mill those two teams are interested
